fixing paint runs

I just wanted to make sure this was the right way to do it.

I have about 5 runs after painting last night, its a single stage ppg, beige #464.

Im going to break down the run with around 220, then go to 400, 1200, 2000 grit.

Do I need to scuff the rest of the body with 1200, 2000, and then paint it all again??

You could wet sand with those aforementioned grits and then do a top coat.

If it is your final coat you do not need to spray again. You could do taht forever until you get a perfect spray.

If the runs are substantial you can use a razor blade to shave it off. Then wet sand.

No need to repaint the whole truck. You'll get an idea of what needs to be done once you start fixin the spot. I used my thumbnail and 150 grit and ground it back to level but I only had 2 coats on it. You should be able to touch up that one spot.

End result

Well, things worked out great, I used 250 on the runs then followed with 400, 1200, 2000. I ended up scuffing most of the truck with 2000 and adding 3 more coats, very carefully this time. I must say she looks perty. For my 1st time doing this I am really happy with the results... I will post some pics later..

Thanks for the advice..
