HVLP first try

Just painted my pakistan half doors and tailgate with my new snap-on HVLP. I bought it second hand and didn't realize it only had a spot nozzle on it. Only really good for shooting jambs etc. I had already mixed a batch of paint so I had to make do.

I never have used one before and I'm really impressed. It kept the overspray to a minimum and didn't zap my compressor.

I'm used to using my trusty old binks model 7 so this was a nice step up.

I used a PPG AE single stage. I had one run and it was my fault due to snagging the hose on a stand.

pics tomorrow..

One thing i noticed that I didn't really like was that it seamed to throw the paint no matter what I did to adjust for it.

that truck is perfect.

you see so many trucks on here that are either too perfect to wheel, or to much of a wheeler to be a nice ride on the road. That is ideal. Great job. I am actually thinking of redoing mine to be a more street friendly ride, as I don't get out to wheel as much anymore, and would like to take my 2 year old into town and the like.

There were some cracks from where the two panels were welded together. Ground them down and fixed it.. A little bondo makes everything nice!

Ready for some wet sanding

that look nice, are they not too glossy or is that just the way the pic turned out?

Very nice looking paint job bud!
