New Paint.

Howdy,

My '70 needed some body work, so I had it painted, as well. It as Dune Beige, but I went with Nordic Blue. Not year-correct, but I think she looks pretty good. Also completely wire- brushed and Rustoleum'ed the frame and underneath panels.

Lookin really good, Gene!

Where'dja have it done? Happy with their work & price?

I would like to have mine painted before next season. Mine just needs to be one color tho; I don't need a very high quality job. I've flipped back and forth on the idea of goin blue on mine (vs dune beige).

A co-worker's husband is an outstanding mechanic who also does a fair bit of body work on the side. He pulled everything off of is, did an outstanding job with the rust and painted it for < $900 (I also got oil and lube, new muffler/tailpipe and a few other minor things in the $900 price). I told him I wanted Nordic blue. Turns out that's $90 a quart x 3.5 quarts. If I'd told him "close to Nordic blue" it would have been cheaper.

It's not a show paint job, but it's very good. Call it a 3 footer.

Where is he located? For that kinda price/service, I'll drive a bit! If you don't mind, give me his contact info. You can PM me or email my username at yahoo. I lost your cell # when my phone died a while back. Thanks! -Ed

Good question. I've had it out once at Yellow Creek with Ed and Co. It was a hoot. After I got home I started to wonder what would have happened if I'd have had some sort of mechanical issue out in the middle of BFE. I guess doing unimproved roads and light wheeling is more of my speed.
