Local appraisal
hey guys - so my insurance agent wants me to have the 40 appraised "in order to protect the value of the vehicle". Anybody know of a contact locally? I am @1 hr east of C-bus. Any help is greatly appreciated. - Chris

You might want to get a collector car "agreed value" policy. It doesnt really matter what kind of car it is, it's just a simple insurance agreement: if the car is totaled they will give you whatever value you've agreed to. The premium is proportional to the value.

I had mine done by usa auto appraisers? online. It really was a joke...write a description send some pix and what you think the value is. Pay your hundred bucks and you get an appraisal. My insurance co was fine with it.

I might be late to the party but my insurance company sent a guy out who specialized in antique and collector cars. As Jim said, I TOLD them what i wanted the insured value to be-losely calculated on what I thought I could get for it, if I had to sell. He checked out the Fj40 and looked over all my documentation and photographs from my resto. He agreed to that value plus another $1000 on top of that and my premium is based on that amount.
