Harlan Trail Ride June 6-8

Allright so it looks like we have a little group wanting to go down to Harlan June 6-8. Who all wants to go? I'm not sure if any of us have been down there, but there are maps available.

I'll probably just go Friday evening through Sunday, my vacation days suck.
I'll be camping and drinking somewhere.

The only camping I am familiar with is the south side of the mountain. It is basically a big field, kind of like a flood plain by a creek. I do not remember any showers or bathrooms with the exception of port a johns.

I think there is camping on the north side but if you are coming from 75 it is further.

?????

Harlan County Campground & RV Park

This is where we are staying for the TTORA thing. Apparently they have cell phone reception also.

donkey,
Are you hauling down or driving down, curious as if you are hauling with room on a trailer I would be more than happy to split the cost of fuel with ya.

If you've got a big enough trailer, I've got a big enough truck!!!

Don't think I can fit much in my 5x8 trailer, Just being a tight wad with fuel and all.
Are you taking the mini or the fj??

So far I'm in. Got some work to do to the tow rig again now though. Gotta swap the rear axle before the pinion goes fer good! Good thing the "new" rear is already here and almost ready to roll under the truck.

Wanna borrow a set of 34x9.5 Swamper TSL's? I can toss them on the trailer and you can bolt them to your truck in camp...

You can go a LOT farther on BFG AT's than many folks will give you credit. I used to make folks look pretty silly with the places I'd go on 33x12.5 AT's on my old 40...

Love to,
Hell wanna sell them??
I am trying ot figure out the logistics of getting my 92 back here, The 33x10.50s on the 40 would go to the 80 to make room for the some 34x9.50 ltbs. Just trying to figure out the logistics of the beast.
Dave.

You're welcome to borrow them but I'm not quite sure I'm ready to sell them yet.

Not me,
Had an issue with a broken spring on my Subaru I need to resolve prior to tearing apart my other driver. Should be able to install the lock right and rebuild the rear this weekend.

that weekend is my son's last day at school, hopefully thats not an issue.

I need a new rear driveshaft, I will try to get that done this weekend.

If my son does not go, I will have room in my GMC for any tag a longs.

is everybody tent camping? If so we could share one area

later

Karl...I owe you a call still....

I am definately tent camping. Sharing a site is cool with me. I'll be down there on Friday evening at some point. $4 a gallon in the FJ40 should be real fun.
I sold my swampers I think now I gotta get some wheels for the Krawlers and mount them up. Hook up my CB again and drive the cruiser around a little since it hibernated over the winter.

We can install the lockright in camp. Work on the front end first.

Jim those would work but I don't really wanna grind the caliper or run a spacer if I don't have to. I'll keep it in the back of my mind though. Thanks.
