From Dave Brill...

SOME BACKGROUND AND INFO...

Ah yes...
Sometimes I forget how old I am... Laughing
The Northeast Region of EC4WDA has been around since 1991. Back then, we decided to do a regional event that would gather all of our, then 3 clubs, together for one event. Without a name, we simply called it the first annual Region D Event. The next year, it became the Northeast 4WD Trailfest. It grew very quickly and became rather popular. It was covered three years in a row in several of the national mags.
In our 5th year, there developed some political BS. Despite that fact, we had a record 165 participants. The 6th year, the politics got worse, those in power even accused me of stealing Trailfest funds, Trailfest raffle prizes, unethical dealings with sponsors, etc. It got so bad that they even asked the members for a vote of no confidence for me. They stated that the 3 big sponsors involved (Warn, BFG and Randy's Ring and Pinion) asked that I no longer be involved in the New England wheeling community (this was before NEA as well) and if I was, they would pull their sponsorship. That caused a great rift to form here in New England. Many of the volunteers stepped away and people started asking for their money back. I contacted the sponsors and asked them for the truth. They spoke with actions instead of words. They pulled their sponsorship of Trailfest and gave it to the event that I/E4Wwas putting together, Florida Vacation. This pointed out there were some major lies told. Those putting Trailfest together sent checks back to the 200+ people who had signed up for Trailfest that year and disappeared into the holes they crawled from originally.
That was about 8 years ago.
In the time since, our regional event became known as On the Rocks and was held at Paragon.
After 3-4 years, PAP has been shut down and we decided to bring the event back into our region (as technically, PA is in Region B of EC4WDA)and with that we also decided to bring back the Trailfest name.
We have a Friday nite BBQ (looks like it will be sponsored by Vermonster this year) and 4x4 "games"/skill tests. Friday, Sat and Sun trailrides. A Saturday banquet and raffle.
All this for usually less than half the cost of a Jeep Jamboree.
There's some more info... Wink :-D

I'll try to keep you updated when new/more detailed information is available

Joined Gotham City. Received receipt of Pay Pal 40. fee. I have heard nothing since. How do I get in the loop? Also, I opened a Yahoo account, as I thought this was the conduit for the group. Please give me some guidance, and with the summer weather I certainly would enjoy wearing the club T-shirt. Best wishes. Norris Marshak

Norris,

Didn't you and I go back and forth over 2 days about PayPal?
Did you get my last email with the GCLC welcome letter on 4/14? In the letter is a link to join the GCLC mail list on Yahoo. If you have any trouble, email me directly.

Jon, Please let me acknowledge everything that transpired between you and me, and apologize if my e-mail had an abrasive edge to it. Please understand that I am not very adept at using the computer. Would you please help me get me into the loop? I did create a yahoo account: norrismarshak@yahoo.com However, other than checking my regular e-mail marshak06@aol.com and looking for private messages on MUD, I'm lost. Many thanks for any help you can provide. Norris

No worries Norris. It's all good.

I'll have Mark subscribe you to the mail list under the AOL account.
