Welcome to the Southern Nevada Landcruisers!

Woody was kind enough to give the SNLC a place of their own in the interweb.

Questions, comments, concerns about the SNLC? Post them up!

It's good to see the clubs forum finally getting some action.

How about an Arizona/Nevada Cruiser run based from Laughin?

This is a great idea. We had a joint run with the Wasatch Cruisers in September to Cedar City.

We already have a local run set up for October, the Gambol in November, and a Xmas tree run in December. We will be mostly busy setting up for the Gambol, so it may be a couple of months until we can find a good weekend.

I finally registerd on this site, been lurking a while.

I'm located in Reno but I was raised in Las Vegas, my first car was a 74 FJ40. I remember spending every free minute four wheeling around the desert . If I ever get my current cruiser back together I plan to make a road trip down back down there.

Hi Jason, I installed a manual fuel pump, the battery holder I got from you, and the gasket for the timing cover. I re-set the valve lifters, and got the rig running. I noticed that the fuse box is hot all the time, even when the ignition is off. This is new since the wiring fire. I still have the wiring issues to deal with, and I was hoping to get your help. Let me know if you have some time to help me with the wiring, and get me up and running.
Thanks,
Vegas Mike

Hi Vegasmike and all,

I'm a new member, thanks for having me here.

We attended the 2006 W.E.Rock Crawling World Championship Series in Henderson, Nevada on Nov 4, and had a great time.

I'm new to 4X4, but I have done some risky off road adventures.

I live not far from Vegasmike, I'm in Boulder City, Southern Nevada.

I have a passenger car, a front wheel drive 1.9L auto w/DOHC.

My trails have been, the dry lake bed, 4 miles south of Boulder City on highway 95, to the gas pipeline/powerline trail through the mountain pass to Greenway road, Henderson.

Christmas tree pass twice.

Off roads near Nelson Nevada

The West Rim Grand Caynon, broke a oilpan, flatbed tow to our home.

A trail from the Boulder City Airport to highway 95, getting up and down 4 washes, one 30 inches high.

Government Wash on Lake Mead, Echo Wash, Overton BLM Boondock RV site

Today we took the powerline trail from the dry lake bed to the Eldorado Energy site.

I think I've convinced my wife that having a high clearance 4x4 his prudent to travel where I've been.

So today I joined this forum to learn from all of you that would offer advise, and try to fit in with input of my experiences and limited mechanical abilities.

The hard pack Southwest desert near Boulder City has given me a great start to trail driving.

I'm researching the features of a pickup truck vs the open landcruiser.

First question is when you're in 4x2 are you using the rear wheel drive or the fronts?

My front wheel drive 4x2 really digs in well and pulls me through everything I've attempted so far, that's not counting a dip and a surface large flat boulder that took out the cast aluminium oil pan at the Grand Caynon.

I'm seriouly looking for a used 4x4 Toyota vehicle.

Pardon me if I was long winded for my first post,

Regards to all,

Blue,

BC,NV

Yeah I suck ..No Cruiser for me ..YET ! Totally just found this site.. On a whim.. I grew up as a kid in the SNLC , and I will never forget those days. They were some of the best of my life.. My dad , mom and older sister were all members.. Im not sure how many of the old members are around anymore, but I figured I would say Hi.. My dads handle was GASMAN also known as Stan Graff.. Well I am obviously his adoring daughter..I cant wait to get my feet back into this... So basically I am just trying to keep in touch and see whats up with you all ..
Nice to meet everyone..
Randi Graff
