Introduction
Hi guys,
I have been lurking in this forum for the past few months as I have been looking at homes in the Fernley area. Well, found out last week that my offer was approved. The house closes on the 19th of next month. So, I am going to be a happy future resident of the free state of Nevada. I work for a school district in the Bay Area in California and I am not sure whats going to happen to my job. If I somehow manage to keep my job, I will stay here but come 'home' on weekends and as time permits. At any rate, I did want to say hi and hopefully I will be able to go on some local adventures with you guys. Oh, I guess i should say a little about me and my truck as well. I have had 3 FJ40s, 69, 76, and 78. All have since been sold and are long gone. Then I went to a 83 FJ60. Was nice, then I felt cramped up and sold that. I then found a nice 97 LX450 with the magic dial and 101k on the clock. I have had that since. My truck has an OME heavy lift, ARB front bumper with M12000 winch (off of my FJ60), 4x4 Labs rear bumper with ladder/basket, snorkel, 5.29 gears, Toyo 315s, and some other knickknacks. Saving up for some sliders and a bigger lift for the future. One of these days I will make your pizza meetings and put some faces with the screen names.
Here is a cruddy picture of my truck at Hollister Hills, a somewhat local ORV area.
Nice to meet you all.
Jon

Hi Jon,
Welcome to BBCNN! We, like most clubs, have a variety of Land Cruiser owners in our club. Some are crawlers, some are overlanders and some are both .
Do you know Tom Ferrin who lives in Marin and/or other NorCal Wagons folks?
Look forward to meeting you and trail'n together!
Dan

Thanks Spresso (Dan)
I think I might be a little of both. When I have time that is. I don't know Tom, but I do know Alvaro and a few other NorCal 80s.
Thanks Krokar (another Dan)
I would love to come along, but this weekend I am doing some stuff with my parents. I have been reading about your guys' little trips and adventures, I can't wait to do some of those. Seems like a lot of fun. I think I should probably step up my efforts to get sliders as my running boards are already mooshed a little.
Jon.

Welcome!
Chicago and I were on the Rubicon last weekend with Alvaro and the rest of the Norcal 80's guys. There's lots of "cross participation" between our two groups. I'm sure you will get a chance to meet most of us if you make a few of either groups events.
As far as sliders and stuff go locrwln said it best;
"We're here to help you spend your money."
Hey maybe that should be the club motto?

Thanks for the warm welcome.
I knew there were at least 2 Dans here, didnt think there were 3. But, there are probably more too
Being that I work for the school district here in the broke state of California , I will remain here until I either lose my job or find something better there in Nevada. So, I will keep an eye out for openings as time goes by.
I will probably be coming out the week of June 15th to take care of paperwork and utilities and such. Not sure if I will be out there all week or just for a few days. Maybe I can time it right to make a meeting or something.
Hope to meet you guys soon.
Jon.
