Trail: Rubicon

The most famous 4WD trail of all. We are meeting up at Wentworth Springs campground on Friday to get an early start on the trail Saturday morning.

Date: Saturday, August 15-16, 2008

Meeting Time:N/A Leave Time: 8:00 am

Meeting Location: Wentworth Springs campground 8-14

Trail Difficulty: Mostly 4

Additional Equipment needed:Extra food, gas, and water. This is an overnight trip so be prepared with your camping gear.

Duration of Run: Two days.

Tread Lightly / CB Channel 3

Anyone willing to take on a passenger? Fordyce is happening the weekend I need to prep and roll out to Ouray, and I really don't want to miss this one too.

Muddygrrl hasn't been on the Rubicon either! Two years with the FJC Trail Teams and no Rubicon. Been just about everywhere else, though.

I don't think you'll slow the group down. You did fine when we did the trail last year.

I was just marking this date on my calender at work and I notice I have that week marked as the Perseid meteor shower. What luck, the view should be great!

Damn, I think I'm going to be in the Yukon for this. My family and I are planning to drive my land cruiser to the Yukon, and up the famous Dempster Highway into the artic circle.

Are we gonna post pone it, run it anyway, do a different run...
That is a REAL BUMMER of a news scoop, but Im game for what ever. All I know is that I wanna get out and do some wheelin. I havent done NEAR engouh this summer...

Confirmed HERE.

Sierra trek is Aug 7-9 so that will be over, we could do Fordyce again.

I've never done Slick Rock, whats it like?

Barrett Lake is still closed, but it could be open by then. I've never done that trail either but it looks cool on the web.

Ya know if all else fails, and you guys can't find anywhere else to go, theres always the Prosor Pits. Some fun obstacles, maybe you could set up a bbq? just throwin it out there.

Barret ( from what ive seen) is pretty tough. + I think that there is a gate in the entrance restricting size.

Slick Rock is short and sweet with good camping spots around. You could do MT Reba then slick rock for more lasting pleasure.
