Pics from our weekend

Saturday morning, 5/26 we headed up to Planet X to hang. For those that have not been; Planet X has an annual party/pottery show/sale every Memorial Day weekend. Good beer, BBQ, hang'n, relax'n,etc.

Then we headed East for some new (and familiar) country exploring. Well as you can see I managed to flip the Horizon! Never done that before. Ahum...I really wanted to test the trailer's construction is why I did it...er right, uh-huh. As I watched helplessly in the rear view mirror as the trailer overturned I told Sandy that the trailer just flipped. As I am always teasing her, she at first, did not believe me! Well when she looked back...you should have seen/heard her expressions. And just as I was trying to make a good impression with an uneventful outing =8^o . Glad I had all my recovery gear including the winch...took a little time but we got it righted and reconnected. Amazingly the trailer itself was pretty much unscathed. The tent corner took a good hit; bent the two tent hinges (looks like they are easily replaceable...or I'll bend 'em back )...other than appearances the tent worked perfectly.

I'm just glad that it went over on the drivers side. When I first read that you had flipped it, I was expecting to see it over on the passenger side, all I could picture was the awning getting trashed.

Really cool pictures, the good news is that we got the baseboards done, so we should be open the rest of the summer. Sorry we missed this trip, looks like it was a good one, also sorry we missed it because Sandy went. Next time.

Jack

WHEW!
Close one with the trailer D!
I was telling the missus about your trailer, and she was inquiring as to its capabilities...I replied "Its designed for off road use!"
Then she came in and saw the pics you posted here.
Glad no major damage came of it!
Looks from the pics to be nice and quiet for you and the lil woman!

Thanks for sharing!

Keith

Yeah it's a cool spot...I'd like to take you guys up there; the Elephant Head Rock is pretty neat plus the way the wind and water have carved out all sorts of recesses and caves; I've not seen another place like it. But the next run is going to be a little higher in elevation as the daytime temps start moving up. I'm think'n a Santa Rosa Mtn Range trip needs to be calendared...we can camp between 7,500-8,000'. Then we need to get the Coyote Flats run marked too...for when the temps kick up to summer highs as we camp at 10,000+.

Congrats!!!

It looks like you had a good weekend Dan, I am very jealous. You guys are killing me with all of these trips lately, it makes me homesick. I did have a fun weekend in New Mexico though.

Considering it is starting to look like it's going to be a hot summer, we should definitely start the planning. Either on the board or maybe at the next meeting.
