Dan your 60, shouldn't have any problems, there are only a few spots on the main trail that are a little rough. Mostly it's pretty mellow dirt road. The creek bed portions are as tough as you want to make them.

Are you sure you need those shock thingys and brakes? I mean really.
Hey Keith, I don't know if you have ordered shocks yet or not, but I have a set of gas charged take offs from my Super Duty. They are just black, but only have about 10k miles on them and they are super long and are Eyes on both ends. Let me know, and they are yours.

I swapped out the TLS's for my old 33" BFG AT's today. Knowing my luck we will run into mud and not see any snow. BTW radials sure do drive a lot better than those bias ply Super Swampers.

YACK! YACK! YACK!!!!
Where's the pics of the run!?
Hey Jack,
On those shocks...Do you remember what the lengths are collapesed and extended?
Are they pretty stiff shocks?
Im thinking that Im gonna run the Doestch tech's 8000's or 3000's. theyre Only 38 bucks a piece, so Ill be saving about 150 from the Bilsteins...
If I can use yours, and save even more...BONUS!
Thanks for the offer.
I wish I could have been on that run too!
GET SOME DAMN PICS!
Keith

I didn't take any, but I know that a lot of pictures were taken, so hopefully some will be posted.
The shocks measure out: Front-23" extended 14.75" compressed
Rear-30.5" extended 19.5" compressed
The fronts are a little stiffer than the rear, due to having to support 1000+lbs of engine. The rears are softer. I took them off because I needed the stiffer settings of the RS9000's when hauling the cabover camper.
Let me know and we'll figure out a way to get them to you.
Jack

Hey Jack,
I just double checked the measurment I got, and the rears wouldnt work either, cuz the compression is too LONG on the ones you have!
Thanks for the offer though. After talking with you last night, Im more confused about what to get.
Ill probably end up being the tight wad that Iam normally, and run the DT's.
Rusty,
Load em your self! Youll be sorry if you dont!

I guess you'll just have to finish up your rig so you can go along now won't you.
JK I know you are working hard to get your rig finished. DO NOT rush to finish, take your time and do it right.

Ive been hemmin and hawwin about what shocks to get!
I finally ordered the Doetsch Tech 8000's. Wagonner5 runs the 3000's on his rig (one of em anyway) and he likes em pretty well...The 8K's are a bit stiffer, so Im thinking that will be a bit better for my newbie SOA self. The Bilsteins were gonna be just too darned expensive for me right now. Im paying HALF in what Id pay for the Bils, I just hope they work ot ok.

Thanks Jack!
If not pics, how about a trail report at least...
How was the trail?
What was it like?
Did anyone get stuck?
Was it a good run that HAS to be re-visited?

The Trail:
The trail was decent, a nice mix of mild rocks with a good dirt road next to it. The top half was muddy.
Stuck:
Shawn got hung up for a bit playing on some rocks.
Dan's friend had some moments driving Dans 60, the starter decided to act up.
It's a nice trail and deserves a second visit, maybe when the days are longer and the weather better so the guys with 40's can play in the creek bed a bit more.

AHHHHHH!
Looked like a pretty fun little trail!
THANK YOU for posting the pics Rusty!
SO, it doesnt look like there was any carnage to be had.
How long was the trail, and how long did it take to do?
Jake look like he was having as much fun as you were...You both have the same grins on your faces!

Jack lost a flare, he removed his mudflpas before they got broken.
I'm not sure how long the trail is, maybe 20 miles?
We didn't get home until around 5:00 but took the sceanic route back to Reno. You could probably do the run a lot faster if you actually knew where the trail head was.
