Are you going to definitely keep it vintage color or does it matter?

I like the baby poop yellow, but I would have some concerns with your blue engine. It will be a bit of a clash. I know its under the hood but I guarantee you'll be popping that baby left and right.

Perhaps a red or some kind of gunmetal grey? Dark grey would be my pick for your blue but I think a red cruiser would be the shizzle.

I'm just saying is all.

I don't see the opposing colors with the engine a problem. I actually thought of doing an uglist paint color poll. This color is high on my list. It also would have several other advantages. I think a truck this color would be less likely to get stollen. And if it did, it would stand out from the crowd. My personal favorites are:

Yellow (This color?): 532
Pueblo Brown: 415
Pollux Orange: 304
Olive Green: 653/637

#1 - Olive Green
#2 - Pollux Orange

Clashing under-the-hood colors doesn't really matter if you're still keeping the firewall red/bare metal/rusty spots color

I'm all for the blue everywhere but it wasn't an option. It would probably increase your rigs chance of being stolen.

Ya know, there was discussion recently about all the parts that have gone into this truck. Early FJ40, late FJ40, FJ60, FJ62, FZJ80 (e-locker, brake master), non-USA (H55F, TC parking brake), mini-truck. Well, I needed the high-pressure flex fuel line from the tank to the filter. The FJ62 line was $192.97. The mini-truck line was $172.25. The FZJ80 line was $41.44. Which line do you think I bought? The nice thing ... it worked perfect.

Thanks Dan for figuring this out.

Da'Rat

6M1, eh? Ummmmmm.

Step Backwards Today

Started getting the engine ready for combustion. I played with the wiring some more ... still a little rough but better. Also decided to purge the fuel line of air. Well, I hooked everything up, dropped the pump into the Blitz can, shorted the terminals on the Diagnostic Box, heard the pump buzz, but noticed there was no fuel returning from the regulator. The pump also seemed to be working too hard.

So I spent most of the afternoon trying to figure out why. There was fuel to the filter. There was fuel to the cold start injector. But there was no fuel to the regulator output. So I relieved the pressure and tried another boneyard regulator with the same result.

According to the Parts Shaman he sells a fair number of 3FE regulators, and the part is unique to the 3FE. That's all I can think of. So I guess I'll be purchasing a new regulator on Monday. Dang, I'm so close.

On the bright side ... still no trouble codes from the ECU. And with all that extra pressure, there were no leaks.

OK, who is up for a Tuesday firing? I'm off work at 3:30, should be home by 4:00, assuming I don't need to make a last minute run for parts. I won't have everything for the cooling system, so if it fires I can't run it long. But we can at least see if it runs, and try to figure out why if it doesn't. Either way, pizza and cerveza for those that show up.
