No Graham, it will not be a "vintage color," nor will it be Dan's Dark Emerald Pearl (6M1). It will be a Toyota color. It will be a relatively modern color (1990's). I have a sample can on the way to see if I like it. I might have a sample piece painted by the meeting if the UPS man is good to me.

Then I will still have a unique color among the club (not counting Camrys) And I'm glad it won't be yet another Imperial Jade Mica or whatever other name Toyota uses to refer to Dark Green. (Since I owned a Taco that was Imperial Jade Mica, I think I have a right to say bad things about it.)

| Imperial Jade Mica (6Q7):
Dark Emerald Pearl (6M1):
That second pic is interesting. I picked it from the Toyota paint code website and those folks look familiar. Who submitted that pic? Looks like TankTrap.

Cool website - I hadn't seen it before. If I had to vote who submitted that pic, I would have to go with Mr. Busey (it's his truck) or maybe that bearded guy hanging off the slider. If you check again now, you might see one of my truck there too...

| Wow Jon! You have been busy. Very cool. Now I really feel the spark to start the 40. I finished the frame, and now need to start on the axles. One at a time. Any advice on lockers? I have looked at selectable (ARB) or the TrueTech. I considered the elocker, but would have to do an axle swap, if I understand the limitations. Also looking at a disc conversion for the front, at least. Any advice would be appreciated. With finances being what they are, it will be 'baby steps' just like Jon's project.

I bought a No-Slip because it was cheap. In the mean time I acquired a second diff and there might be an ARB in the distant future. The elocker is not practical for the rear of a 40. It's possible for the front and not hard to install, especially if the axle is not in the truck.
Disk brakes. For the front I went with mini\FJ60 knuckles+mini V6 calipers+FJ60 rotors. On the older axles you need to grind the inside of the knuckle ball to clearance the Birfield. Not a big deal. For the rear I would get one of the kits for Monte Carlo calipers. There are full kits, or you can purchase the parts individually. It's real easy. If I had to do this again I would purchase the kit from TSM.
I would highly recommend a study of the Technical Links section here at MUD before you continue.

| For lockers, ARB's are the best choice but they're $. I've been satisfied with my Aussie Locker.

| I just found this one Fish also took. I really think it's cool. We were sizing up the line for the rocks I'm sitting on in the upper pic.
