not sure if these have been posted up here yet, but please delete if they have. Over on NC 4x4 there are two 79 FJ40's for sale for 6K. one is a parts truck. Might be worth taking a look. they are located in Harlan.

I can't afford to do all this at once but over time I'm hoping for a few things for my stock 40. Does anyone have any of the following: telescoping windshield frame mount mirror arms and mirrors, a front license plate mounting bracket, tow hooks, OEM light for glove box, center console (I wasn't quick enough to get the Conferr center console on eBay), set of wagon wheels.

I might still have a tow hook. I'll check when I get home.

Need a tire
I need one tire for a spare in one of these sizes: 295/75R16, 255/85R16, 33x10.50R16, 285/75R16. Tread pattern is unimportant, I just need something that is round, holds air, and can serve as a temp spare (on or offroad).
Thanks if anyone has anything.

Guys, I have a 1FZ block that is in good shape, it is the block only with pistons in place, no head. It has crank, crank pulley timing chain, etc... Make me an offer, else it goes to the scrap yard.

Seats are pending sale. I also have an 02 WR426 great cond with low miles. I have the original plastics (headlight/taillight) and an MX set that is currently on it. It has been babied. I have a service manual that I will let go with it. I am the second owner and have had it since 03. It has not seen much dirt in the past 2 years. Brand new front and rear tires. $2200 OBO

Time to clear out some junk...
Still have 5 american racing alloy wheels 15x8 going cheap.....like $35ea....maybe less if you are nice. ON EBAY now...
78 fj40 steering box free SOLD
Factory soft top bows...not free and not cheap. There are knock-offs on ebay for $850. No kidding. Of course, they are insane. PENDING
Got some abmy doors with about a half inch to inch hole in the bottom of both of them. make offer ON EBAY now....
How about a cannondale full susp bike....super V Like to see at least $450 out of that. It's an XL. SOLD
Oh...and a 1966 FJ45 lwb fully restored. Seriously, don't even ask the price unless you have stupid money to burn. It's sweet...it may be the nicest one you have ever or will ever see. I'm not bragging, I have just been in this hobby since 1994 and have never seen another one that rivals it. I really don't want to sell it, and I don't need to, but I just don't use it. Low ball offers will be laughed at....anything short of a Porsche Cayman S will be laughed at.

No BS - I've seen it and it's nicer than the nicest that you could think it could be.
If it was mine, I'd create a bubble to store it in so only filtered air touches it and the humidity is kept constant. Could probably be a museum exhibit one day.

Ha! It already lives in air conditioning.
There are a few things on it that are not "right". I need to make a battery hold down bracket for it, the seatbelts have some stains on them that I hope to get out, and the rear main seal needs to be replaced. I should have all that wrapped up in a few weeks, but no guarantee the stains will fully come out of the seatbelts.

Very sweet. I saw that 62 on craiglist (not in person). Sounds like a nice truck from the description.
I would not trade that 45 for a Cayman S, maybe a '69 to '73.5 911.

And here i thought i had a nice one.
But you are right about the price. Have been offered some real nice cash but would not get rid of it.
He does have a REAL nice truck though.

Approaching chat, but what the hey....the old 911's are cool. My mom bought an 83 911 Targa and still has it. I was just blasting around in it a few weeks ago. It's mint, never wrecked, just needs to be driven more than it is. They are seriously fast cars, but I wouldn't trade my 45 for one. The 45 is more fun to me and certainly more rare. I actually had people applaud when I drove my 45 into the car show (I was late). No kidding. In a field full of Camaros, mustangs, fiberglass rods, etc, there was only one other "original" and unique ride there. It will be in the next issue of Rodders Journal and it is BAD ASS. I think he said he had $80k in materials alone.
Back on topic. I'm not looking to trade my 45. I really like it. But I also like sports cars. I haven't had a sports car in 8 years. If someone forces me to sell it (price I can't resist) then I will go buy a badass sports car that's destined to be a classic. I miss hitting the track days with the local car clubs and rocketing around on mtn roads. I'm really not advertising the 45 for sale. I won't sell to someone that I don't like or anyone who intends to wheel it. Camping is fine, but no wheeling or v8's. There just are too few of these, and next to none that are original. Some people might say it's only worth $20k. Maybe they are right. If that's the case, then I still have a sweet fj45 and always will.

More of a WTB: If anyone runs across a 22RE (whole engine, with computer, etc, tranny/tcase would be bonus) that would be great. The 22R in my pickup was bored out, camshaft, "head work", DEMON carb, header, etc. I am not good enough at engine stuff to be really comfortable with a "race engine"
Especially since I want to make this rig super reliable where I can drive it to the OBX with you guys next spring.
If you REALLY want to tempt me.... find me a suitable DIESEL to go in there!! I actually would be fine with the old stock 2L series, but a turbo diesel would really be nice but now you are talking big $$ vs a lil old 22re that should be plentiful and cheap and reliable.
I am trying to do some trading now for my Scanoe / MinnKota on a lil pop-up camper I could tow behind me!!
