Rear Tire Carrier Build
Another completion in an effort to be outfitted for Harlan, some of you may have seen pics of it in the Harlan photos but here are two close ups of it without a tire mounted on it. I have to thank Jerry greatly in his time, tools, and efforts in helping me get it completed in time as well as Ramons insight to something I thought I was doing right when he had a better idea that actually worked out much better for the latch. Overall I am very happy with it, I didn't have any issues with it in Harlan other than getting used to having to open it when wanting to open the hatch. I used an IronPig spindle with a DeStaco Latch, I ended up making my own hook for the latch rather than using the supplid one. Design was a combined effort of what I really wanted and what made sense in the production standpoint of things, theres about a 1' worth of deflection between tube and body which takes a hell of an effort to even get close. Overall as I have said I am very happy with how it sits. It was made with the thougth of future add-on's such as high lift and jerry cans in mind. Here's a few pictures, I used a picture from Harlan to show a mounted tire on it, best closeup I could find.

Nice and tight against the tailgate. I like it.
Where are you going to put your tag? Off to one side?

Well since the truck is rarely driven, much less on public roads I may for the time being leave it alone.

What I proposed was to use the hitch receiver and one of those goofy lighted "logo" covers, mount a plate hanger on it, use the electrical connection for a power source for a light and he is golden.
He'd have to put a "plan B" together when he is towing his trailer. I haven't thought that far down the process to account for that, yet...
