A few pics

Well I finally got around to taking a few pics of the 80. I got it tagged today and drove it to work and class and I am really impressed with how tight and clean the truck feels. I have to track down a drive line whirl, a oil leak and rebuild the front end and she should be up to speed. Anyway here are a few pics, it sure feels good to be back in a cruiser again.

Nice base to work with. Now the fun begins, after fixing the "little things" and some PM, building it up...

Steve,

Let me know when you want to do your front end, cause I missed the last front end party and it needs to be done....

Anyone have a list of needed/recommended parts and price?

Sounds good Brian, I am going to have to do this one pretty quick, within the next couple of weeks so let me know when a good time for you would be.

Nice cruiser. I especially like the lack of roof rack and rear wind deflector. Is the leather tan or grey?

FWIW, I can recommend the front axle rebuild kit from Iron Pig. My knuckle bearings were Koyo, but you might double check what they have now...

Here is the kit from Kurt $170 with timken $190 with koyos. Timkens are just as good if not better so I would go with that.
Cruiser Outfitters

I believe this also beats C-dans price by a bit.

I just did this a few weeks ago. I got the parts from Cdan. I can fax you the list with prices if you want. I spent $400, that included rotors at $80 each and $57 for pads. You are looking at roughly $200, plus $25 for the Marlin seals from Slee. A little more than the others, but I am an OEM whore.

I've talked with Georg, OrangeFJ45, and he has his kits in stock, with the Marlin seals. I'm going to put an order in with Chris for some new studs and change those out as well.... Weekend of Nov. 14th too far out for you?

No, that weekend should work great for me. What were those kits selling for now?

He told me $148, but not sure if new bearings were included. I'm waiting on a PM from him to find out...

At that price I would highly doubt it, Cruiser outfitters has the lowest price i've seen with bearings at about $160

I just looked back and Georg charged me $127 shipped for the kit, no wheel bearings. I bought the bearings locally at Autozone and they were Timpken - good enough for me, we are talking about a Cruiser, not a racecar.

Yeah, 148 with the Marlin seals, and no wheel bearings, just trunion bearings. His wheel bearings would be another 90. I may go that route, Ramon.
