Diff breathers

My diff breathers are clogged and in need of a long extension. What size is the tube used for breathers? And is it better to use fuel or vaccum line?

I don't know the diameter...guess around 5/16th. But that might be to large. Just take yours off and take it into an auto parts store. I would go with fuel line. Stuff holds up forever and is easier to find and uber cheap.

Small hijack -

I've read that the breather hose for a 40 series axle is either 1/4" or 3/8" (conflicting threads in the tech section).

Anyone know which one is correct or the best size to go with? '76 axles BTW.
