40 Half Early Hard Doors

I had 3 lower door portions left over after my body shop fixed me up with 2 perfect doors...so I figured I'd make some half hard doors. This will be my first welding project so be easy on me if it looks like sh!t for my first try.

I've got two semi solid lowers to start with but they are not perfect (hence me not feeling guilty cutting them up). I started by using my soft half doors as a template and using that for the shape of the cuts. A plasma cut later and this is what I've got.

I'll start closing up the top section next weekend and then epoxy self etch prime and do a home paint job.

If anyone has any early style door hinges, please let me know.

A few pics so far...

A lot of folks use a piece of exhaust tube in the gap to make a rounded contour.

Looking good, jealous, want a set, but I f'd up and sold my extra set of doors to fund other things.
