Do you really think our couple hundred bucks makes a difference! What are we paying for....A park ranger salary and the gas he burns running circles checking to make sure we don't drink and keep our tents off the grass. They don't maintain the trails...WE DO....they don't use the trails...WE DO....they don't maintain any facilities....they are built privately...thus WE DO. They sure as hell don't stick up for us so why should we help them keep their job. This is the exact "Reliance" that got us here in the first place. Everyone is so DAMN reliant on the government it is amazing people even go to work any more. Be nice to the Government and see what that gets you.
The government takes enough of my money thank you. I dont' think we OWE them anything. If I remember right the Government works for me....I don't work for them or OWE them anything. How about instead of 4500 dollars for people who shoudln't be driving nice cars to begin with they gave that 3 billion to something good that EVERYONE can use. Shit the land doesn't cost us anything. The shit is free...its damn dirt for crying out loud. I think if a few local businesses came more reliant on us and we stopped comming they would do more to stick up for us when we were forced out or stopped comming then Francis Frank.
RANT OVER...for now.

Seems like there is a difference between a bunch of yahoos drinking and raising hell, and some familys have good clean fun by the campfire. Especially if the familys just cleaned up the mess the yahoos left.
I would hope that a sensible ranger would know the difference.
Of course I just remembered this picture, so maybe you are all crazy.

I've got a ton to say but I don't want this to turn to chit chat. Sorry about that.

For beer, you can get growlers of beer from most of the microbrews. This way you can avoid having the empty beer cans/bottles and the jug can be labeled as apple juice or something. At least if you are going to risk it, you won't have a bunch of evidence in your trash bag or the landfill. Shoot...the growlers from Foothills Brewery are better than most bottled beer out there anyway......not to mention they can have about 6% alc.
I would never in a million years do either of the things I posted above. You do so at your own risk.

Oh I was just joking about that. I've snuck beer and booze into more things that I can remember. I've never had a problem at uwharrie though so I don't think i'm even going to try and hide it.

I've had 1 ticket over the years. There were about 13 of us around a fire that hadn't seen each other in a LONG time. You do the math, but my guess is we were a bit louder than most Arrowhead groups. Oops - $75 for the group, so it was pretty cheap once we all pitched in.

The only time i have ever seen anything done there in the over 20 years i have been going is when a group gets too roudy that the Host can not take care of them then the local sheriff has come down. Seen that a few times.

Everyone, David from MATLCA will be joining us on this run, please make him feel welcome and try to confuse him with everyone's names!
Everyone ready for next week? Anyone need anything (within reason) for next week?

FWIW, I don't think I've posted up yet, but I'll be there with the Mrs. and our Jr. driver. We will probably be camping both Friday and Saturday nights. If anyone has truck bed or trailer space from the Triangle, I could probably use help hauling one of the Gators. If not I'll probably throw it on top of the roof rack.

I will be bringing a trailer and will likely have space. What is this "Gator"?
This is too big for my trailer.

Looks like were are still a go for Saturday only. Stacy will be out as the twins in the belly are getting a little more tempermental. I have one of my friends from Va coming down for his first trip to URE. He will be in a Jeep, but this will be a good way for me to convince him to change his thinking. We should be there between 0830-9

I guess that 11% alc content can cause memory loss

Guess you have never had an EKU 28 German Beer.

Depending on my trailer load at that time and what the garage looks like at that time is what i will be doing for the weekend. I really want / need to go wheelin but i have to finish builing a pasture and getting the rest of the wood off of the trailer so i have a place to load the 40.
And all the wood for the pasture / overhang for the horse is on my trailer so i can move it around the field as i need it.

When i was in Germany we would get the new guys that thought they could drink anyone under the bar to bet us that we could not get them smashed on 2 beers.
Most of the time they were smashed before finishing them both.

I'll stick around for a little while. I know the PDF file didn't specify anything for Sunday, but anyone can stick around for some wheeling...
