I vote for Mexican.
We can do chicken and steak fajitas/soft tacos with beans and rice. Should be easy to cook for a ton of peeps.
Stephanie can also make guacamole She makes the best I've ever had...honest!!!
If everyone is ok with this lets start a list of who brings what.

What about every rig brings enough meat and wraps/tacos for the people in their group, and we'll just throw all the meat in the same pot? (Seafood separate, of course) Then we can just blurt out what everyone's going to bring in addition? Such as guac, chips, cheese, beans, etc. and so forth...????
We can bring some pineapple-mango salsa

I am 90% sure that me, the wife, and the boys (3.5 and 1.5) will be coming. We will try for Friday and Saturday nights. We can bring whatever y'all need. Sharon is an excellent culinary artist.

Hi Guys, and GarnerFJ40
I'm still planning on coming down from Virginia Beach. I havent been able to get anyone else in the club to commit though. The usual "broken this", "sand in my that" excuses.
I do have 1 or 2 Jeep friends that would like to come. Is that Ok or are you trying to keep it all LC?
Thanks

While I can't speak for the rest of the group that is fine with me, we had two jeeps with us last time.

Tell them to make a pearl . The above with the not mentioned explitive is a favorite of mine at work.
Again I can't speak for the group but one or two couldn't hurt. Of course they better be prepared for a lot of Heep jabs.

Here's the PDF file Greg made for the trip in May.
http://forum.ih8mud.com/attachment.p...5&d=1242152784
Note training and cleanup references do not apply...
Everyone bring meat to add to the tacos/fajitas, tortillas/taco shells, and a side item (chips, salsa, queso, guac, sour cream, cheese, etc)
And lots of Cervesa and Tequila

Just a quick caution, you guys know that the alcohol/beer is a no-no at Uwharrie? Even "Red Dixie Cups" are likely to be looked at VERY closely from a certain new enforcement officer from what I understand.
So just be careful in what/how you do that part, etc.

With the way our luck has been with NPS/NFS officers, it wouldn't come as a surprise. Never saw anyone the last trip....

If I understand that correctly, you are saying that alcohol is not even allowed at the campgrounds? I understand that Montgomery County is dry and that no booze on the trails, but the whole shebang too?

In the past we have had no intervention with park officials and we have consumed some EtOH. Seems like we may have to be a little more discreet and creative in our actvities.

We will be coming Friday afternoon and staying until Sunday, me, the wife, and two boys, 3.5 and 1.5. I doubt we will do much wheeling, maybe one "easy" ride.
I am just looking forward to getting away for a few days. We will be bringing a canoe and some bikes.

I do know from being up there quite a few times that the good stuff is highly frowned upon. That being said though, most hosts i have meet up there over those same years drank the same stuff we were trying to. Just had it in a different cup.

Just something you may want to consider at some point as a club / moving off Federal Lands for camping?
http://uwharriestables.com/home.php/?page_id=5
I am not affiliated with them in any way. I also know that the Cagle (Eldorado Outpost owners) family bought a large chunk of property that CTBlazers is using this weekend / I think the future use for it is "group" camping!!
But private property might not be a bad idea...

Thanks for posting this information Sam, this is great information
As a sidenote please consider the effects of not camping on federal land, i.e. loss in income for the Forest System and ultimately a shortfall in revenue resulting in less funding for OHV areas, maybe something to consider is a weekend of fun without the alcohol.....yeah I know may take all the fun out of it but may be what it takes occationally to fulfill continuing access to OHV Areas.
Most importantly be responsible when you are out on the trails....
