WTB Toyota SAS - Beater!

Ok, been swapping around vehicles and ended up with something a bit more TOW RIG than offroad and thinking I want to just get a beater rig for taking offroad.

I think I want to stick to Toyota.. might consider others but that is my main preference.

I would PREFER an automatic, but hear "bad things" about those old 85 and older autos. (Gutless I guess but still true if dual tcases? This ain't a DD!)

If I get a 5spd I will just put a manual hand throttle on it and pretend I am driving the tractor!

I am guessing my budget will be $1000 or LESS, much more than that and the wife might shoot me. This is gonna take some fancy footwork as is.

Where I would like to go with this rig is TOYOTA DAD style rig!! Simple, clean, and wheelable!

Extended cab would be nice just because I am a bit worried my XXXL self might be a bit squeezed in the "mini" truck. (Might have to get a smaller steering wheel or something, sigh, on a diet too...)

I have been watching craigslist, and on here, and right now everything is closer to $2k range and that is more than I want to get into.

I do want to be able to tag this vehicle... if it does not have a title I expect it to be CHEAP/offset the fact that it will be a PIT(arse) to wheel at Tellico/URE / durn gravel roads & don't want tickets.

Body dmg is fine, it will get my infamous $80 paint job, money will be spent on tires, gearing, dual tcases, etc.

Sam...ready for something a bit hard core again...Hinton
