HAMOM opinion?

just trying to think out loud and bounce some ideas around, so please give your opinion.

My thought is that there are a lot of us, some who wouldn't admit, that need to rebuild their driveshafts (new u joints). I'm sure someone local has a small press we could use, maybe we could all meet here or maybe ryan's or at steve's and everyone could drop their shafts and we could all press in new u joints. Ryan, not trying to invite ourselves over, but you have a sweet location with the cul-de-sac. I'm sure there are a lot of folks who need it and don't really know how to do it. Or some, who think they know, but have never done it.

everyone can order joints from wherever, should be a relatively quick and cheap repair, driveshaft u joints are something that need to be maintained and replaced or bad things happen. Should be able to knock out 5 to 8 shafts no problem i would think.

Just a thought.

What do you think?

Sounds like a great idea alex, and knowing I have to replace my dented D/S this would be a good time.

Continuing to think out loud here, if everyone would like to use Toyota u-joints then I would get a count and touch base with Chris at Fred Anderson Toyota here in Raleigh and see what kind of deal I can work up for a group buy. But then again there may be a stronger u-joint out there that others would like to use to replace there's.

Martha Ann and I would like host BBQ and such!

Martha Ann and I have been talking about having a cook-out, beer drinking, a-thon. You gather the dates and we will host a u joint
replacement party. I should have a 100 series by the end of the week
that I am sure will need something.

I have a press a buddy just gave me. I think all the parts are there. I could probably make the event and if not give out the press to someone heading up.

jfz80 has a press, i just don't want to volunteer his tools.

I personally think that the Toyota ujoints are probably the best. I ordered some "made in japan" ujoints from MAF, but they do not have zerk fittings. The Toyota joints do.

I would ASSume, but do you think all the driveshafts use the same ujoint?

I have a 12-ton press that is available for use. If I can't make it the the event, Greg or anyone else in the area could pick it up.

Count me in! I've got a set of Toyota ujoints on the shelf in my garage but procrastination has kept them from being installed .
