I'm BAAAAAAAACk

Hey everyone, I passed my PMP exam today and my work bootcamp is winding down in the next couple of weeks. I am going to really jump in head-first on my project. I am going to do the SM465 and 3sp gears first, and then the SOA. I have the front leaves ready to go, rear springs (FJ55) are hopefully catching a ride from Western NC this weekend, and I am going to order my hysteer this week. I have the shackle reversal kit here from Proffits. I have been working w/ a local machinist on 465 adapter plate which looks promising. If it turns out, we'll likely sell them.

I am hoping to finish rebuilding my 465 this weedend...I'll need to drop my trans/tranny soon so I can get the 3sp gears into my 4sp case. I am hoping the Oct. ride will be late enough for me to be done, but that is a lofty goal for sure. Once I have the trans swap done, I will do the c&t on the front axle and SOA.

Anyone had driveshaft work done around here? Any recos???

Talk to you all soon and look forward to getting back involved in the club!

Ramon

Thanks J... It's been a long road, and frankly a crappy few months, but it will pay off in the long run! On a positive note, I have found some new favorite beers - that's the highlight of my summer!

Ramon, the 465 plate is looking very promising. Congratualations on the certifications. As always let me know if you need a hand to drop the trans/transfer or if you need the hoist.

Ramon,

Just let me know what help you need. I'm definitely interested in helping/watching you do the transfer case gear swap.

Ramon, Glad to hear your back with us, I will contact you later on about the fiberglass top. But i would be willing to bet, that with the 55 rear springs, that a stock front driveshaft will bolt right up as a rear shaft, mine was very close to working but was too long, but the 55 springs will set you back another inch or 2 and would work perfect, hopefully thats the case. If so, then you can fab your own front driveshaft easy..

It is good to hear from you again. Sounds like you have been very busy.

Good luck on the adapter. If he is any good let us all know. Would still love to put a Mercedes diesel in a 40.

Your rig is going to be awesome and knowing the way you drive on projects I bet you will be done by OCT.

Thanks guys. I'm seriously debating dropping the drivetrain this weekend. I will be a the football game Saturday if Hannah doesn't have her way, but Sunday I think I will at least get started. Greg, I would love to take you up on using that hoist. Once that's out, I will be doing the t-case gear swap if you want to see what all's involved Brian (you can learn from my mistakes ). I am going to have to have the 55 springs shipped afterall :( Plus, I busted a main shaft bushing pressing it on tonight rebuilding the 465, so I will have to order and wait for that to come in. Oh well, that's about it for tonight, but thanks for all the words of encouragement!

Ramon, let me know where the springs are, I have a buddy coming down from murphy next weekend, if he's willing I can have him pick up the springs, obviously depends on the location.

They are in Cherokee currently, but the seller has offered to get them to Asheville for me.... I guess it would depend on his route from Murphy, but it looks like he would be coming right through near Cherokee and Aville. Give him a holla' and let me know what he says, that could save me $50+ on shipping and I'd be happy to put half of that towards his gas to make it worth while.

Thanks! Ramon

Hey Ramon. I was thinking about you when I was at URE several weeks ago. Wondered where you'd been. Glad you're back.
