The ONSC "What I do for a Living" thread

Rather than continue to post what we all do in the August Uwharrie thread, why not post up here what you do for living? Good chance for folks to get to know one another a little better..........

I do a few things, main/daytime job is here at the CPA firm doing taxes, financial statements and consulting.

We spun off a 2nd company that is a Quickbooks & Computer consulting company that is called TriadHelpDesk.com There are 3 other partners besides myself in that.

Finally, the "play" money comes from teaching, I teach undergrad and graduate level Accounting courses online.

I invented the post-it.
Now I just draw houses for people and sell imported cruiser parts for the fun of it.

Oh, and a bitchin FJ45 that may or may not be for sale.

"Much like a cat or hot buttered toast, the correct side will always try to land down. If the bezel is on upside down, then the force of it trying to right itself may cause you to roll your cruiser unexpectedly."

I'm the Accounting Manager for a company in Durham called SportsMEDIA Technology Corp. We engineer custom hardware and software for statistical graphics for sports television, like the mini-scoreboard in the corner of the screen, the yellow first-down line for football, the "crawl" at the top of the screen for NASCAR, etc. I just returned from L.A. where we were the official timing and scoring for the X Games.

I am a mechanical engineer for Sony Ericsson. I design mechanical parts for mobile phones and my specialty has become displays, circuit boards, and flexible printed circuits. Not a glamorous job, but it pays the rent and has allowed me to travel around the world.

Hey All...I'll play too. I'm a High Touch Operations Manager (HTOM) for Cisco. And before anyone asks that is the "network communications technology" company, not Sysco, the food delivery company. I am a liaison between some of the top tier customers and the engineer support team. We make sure their problems get handled, help allocate resources for rollouts, and do trending analysis that helps the customer identify areas of concern.

Right now I'm in a crazy training class where I have attained my CCNA and I am working on my PMP and hope to rejoin the general public in mid-September. Did I mention life kinda' sucks right now????

JFZ80,

I'm going to have to run some ideas across you for my hardscaping plan for my yard. I'd like to do most of the work myself, but would love some help drawing up the overall plan and tell me what I'm getting into!
