I too am in the landscape industry. I work for a commercial landscape installation and maintenance company out of Raleigh. I am the sales mgr and spend my days with a measuring wheel and visiting property management companies throughout RTP. I love the days when I am out there estimating or designing and dread the days when i'm crunching numbers inside. Would love to get into some of the high end custom work like JFZ80. That picture is quite impressive.

I work as a Mechanical Engineer for a Hydrogen Fuel Cell Manuf. Wish we could get enough power out of these things to run my 81 FJ60.

I fly Search and Rescue helicopters for MCAS Cherry point, those from Eastern NC know us as "Pedro". And when I'm not doing that, I get to wiggle the sticks on a Cessna Citation 560 Encore

Here's both of my rides

I work for UNC and evaluate children with hearing loss to help determine if they are candidates for cochlear implant surgery. I also help them develop their ability to hear/listen and speak. In the next month or so I'll be transferring within UNC to coordinate a (at least) 5-year study on this pediatric population.

If you thought my presence was hit-or-miss now, wait until I try for my doctorate!

I'm a project manager. I was a road warrior and have seen almost every state in the last 10 years...planes, trains and automobiles. I just signed up with Food Lion to do the same locally on their in house initiatives.

For the last 4 years I've been working for Volvo Trucks of North America at the corporate office in Greensboro. I'm a senior breakdown coordinator. Basically means that when a Volvo or Mack truck breaks down on the side, I'm the guy they call. We also handle road service for Michelin truck tires. I am mainly on the Mack side of the business now.

And yeah, I am trying to renew my addiction to Mud after selling my 40. New project truck is in the works now.

I guess i should add an update to mine. Just got told 59,000 of us will be layed off next year. If you do not have 5 years in you are gone. I have less than 2.

Guess as good of time to look for a place in TN now, or at least the mountains of NC.

I'll bite. I work at Gerrard Tire Co in Charlotte. 60hrs a week and the work is hard as hell but it pays the bills. I'm also a full time student at University of Phoenix. Going for my bachelors and masters in health administration. So in about 3 years i'll have a lot more time on my hands and be a lot happier also.

Hope you and I both find work soon.

Sorry to hear it man. I figure the PO will do it after the holidays.

Was just offered a good job around here though if i want it. Doing what i did in the military but just training troops before they deploy. Its a contract job so we will see. He has just started it up, so i am going to give it some time.

I agree, if you get into UNC-Wilmington go for it. However it really depends on what you want to major in. I had no idea and ended up at UNC-Wilmington and had a blast and majored in Business. I did miss college football!

If you like to get outdoors, then App maybe the way to go. Hiking, mtn biking, 4wheeling, rock climbing, snowboarding, etc.

UNC-Wilmington is more fun if you like salt water, surfing, free diving, hanging out on the beach, etc. Masonboro was insane and still is today.

ECU and State are both great and may provide more job connections in the future.
