Gotcha. I really want to put the Hundy on the trails. Thank you for the offer. Also, these are little girls and they said they would think about it and let me know when I got home today.

it's very dry in HP, which is about 1.5 hours north of URE. So, i would imagine be prepared for another dust bowl.

Is the fastest route to Uwharrie from Raleigh still HWY 64?

That's a relative term. I prefer to do the Hwy 1/15/501 to Hwy 24/27 route. Going Hwy 64 is longer but, if you like to drive a bit over the speed limit, its easier to do since you are doing more highway miles that way.

And, the 1/15/501-24/27 route is more scenic IMHO...

So sorry to hear that. Our chessie is 13, getting slow and I'm fearful of having to face that decision as well...

Very sorry to hear about your dog. I think it is good you are deciding to come out to get your mind off of it and have a good time.

Susana and I just go back. Man Rex would have had so much fun with Molly, Brody, Marley, Marco, and the other little boys and girls.

Anyway, when we met up with the group we ran Rocky Mount. AllenD rolled his Ft. Knox 4Runner on the first obstacle, just before Kodak. He was backing down the right side difficult line to get another line and went over v....e.....r......y s.....l......o.....w......l.......y. Smashed his right rear window and had oil in the cylinders so it took a little while to get him rolling again. Allen, his wife, and dog were all fine, thankfully.

Then Kodak. Because we had been on Rocky Mt nearly two hrs before Kodak, I thought everyone would bypass it so we could go back to camp to have the cookout. Clint and Ryan and their families were back there. But many in the group lined up to do Kodak, so Susana and I - not in the best of moods and quite hungry - took off.

They got a perfect weekend for camping and there was very little traffic on the trails. It was great to see so many folks out too!

Had a lot of fun today. I'm really sorry about the way my friends acted out there...I'm pretty embarrassed. They were talking smack about each other's girlfriends like some middle schoolers and got into a little cat fight. Don't worry...they won't be coming back.

When I got home I had a message from Bud at BudBuild about fitting the cruiser for skids on monday so I'm pretty pumped....can't wait for the next ride.

Had a good time, despite laying the 4Runner on its side. Many thanks to those who helped get it back on its wheels. The trip home was uneventful other than a slight smell of burning oil that went away before I got home and a bit of wind coming from the hole where the passenger side rear window used to be. Oh well.....had to happen eventually I suppose!

Here are a couple of pics the wife took w/ her cell phone.
