So last weekend we tried to start it and realized the fuel pump was not working. With the help of Brian 84yota4x4 we replaced it (we took one from another 2F we have) and got everything ready to run. We tried to start it a few times with no luck. Could not work at all on the cruiser during the week so today Juan and I tried again,,,we did the timing again, give it some gas and it runs!!!

It is so exiting!!

The next thing to do is to install the lift, paint the axles, make sure brakes are working, give the last coat of paint, assemble body parts, and connect all the wiring!

I am hoping to have it on the road by the end of August if everything goes ok

I will get more pics when the lift is on.

Also, thanks Jared for getting the rims for me.. I really appreciate it!

Got the lift installed this weekend. Will be spraying last coat by next weekend.......then figuring out wiring...brake lines....tires.....inspection....and it should be ready to roll.

Also any one has pics of the accelerator linkage....I took it out and put it with a bunch of other 40s parts and I am not sure which one it is. it is for a 79 fj40.

You two are cruising (no pun intended) on this project. I guess it really helps when you have two people who enjoy the same thing.

I really like the look of that Cruiser with the soft top on it. Is the bezel on upside down?

It has a square bezel, can a square bezel be upside down?

Much like a cat or hot buttered toast, the correct side will always try to land down. If the bezel is on upside down, then the force of it trying to right itself may cause you to roll your cruiser unexpectedly.

BTW, if you strap hot buttered toast, butter side up, to a cat's back and drop it, it will just hover about 1foot above the ground and spin.....a perpetual motion machine.

So the gas tank is set up and ready to be filled.
The brakes lines are in and ready to bleed.
The clutch slave will be rebuilt this weekend...

What I need know is how to figure out the wiring!! I bought a battery today....connected it and none of the accessories worked. I have a few connectors hanging that I have no idea where they go because i dont see the other matching connectors...I will take some pics tomorrow to see if you guys can guide me on that.
Also need to figure out the accelerator cable assembly on the cowl. I need to get a pic of the bracket and how is attached to the tub

I installed the roll bar this weekend and finished some details...

Here is a pic so far.

WOW that is really looking good! When I had my 40 I had to do some work on the throttle linkage and I looked at SOR's catalog. It has some very good parts diagrams. I think they have all the diagrams on line as well.

I have to said that I cheated this past weekend since we were working on Samurai we picked up on Saturday...... That took the focus from the 40. I will be working on it this week though!!!
