Alright, just finished loading up the truck. I've got fishing rods, tackle, firewood, grill, propane, tools, fluids, jack, chain/strap, food, tent, first aid, cooler, BEER, ...........Phwew......What else?

I'll be in Rocky Mount by 8:30-9:00 to catch the caravan. I've got a couple of your guys' phone numbers. I've have Nextel, so hopefully I'll have signal to call you guys. If not, I'll pull over on the side of 64 and wait to see you. I'll be in the burgandy Tundra with the trailer and a ONSC's sticker.

You're expecting to hit 95/64 interchange at 9:45-10:00 correct?

No worries, I've been buried and there wasn't much warning for you guys.

Have fun and enjoy!!!!

Make sure to take the time to do the Frisco - Buxton trip via the beach. Well worth the delay in time. Also, Buxton Woods is a good, short diversion. Pretty unique and interesting...

Well,

I am not ready but I'm comming none the less. I recieved all of my registration and stickers in the mail today and I'm good to go on insurance so legally I'm ok.

I got my new used tires mounted today to give me a bit more surface area and less of a chance of a dry rot blow out.

Probably the most important two things though is I have no electricity.

#1 I was not able to mount my new Alt....Damn rusty bolts broke

#2 I have no lights (mounted but not functional) Not like I could power them anyway.

I know I'm going to forget something but as long as I have my Cruiser and a sleeping bag I'm good to go. Oh that and beer.

Ramon.....See you at 8. I will give you a call around 7.

That's the plan... We'll be looking for you and if for some chance we don't see you, I can call you. To double check timing, I can also call you when we are leaving Zebulon.

It is suppossed to by 70 tomorrow over there but then get chilly. Way better than the rain they had forcasted.

Those are some amazing pictures. I just wish I could have been there to seem them in real life. I keep thinking I'm back home and those are sunsets. Going to have to get used to that.

See you all tomorrow.

LOTS of pics please for those of us trapped indoors / at office until April 16th!!!

I have been wanting to do OBX for years but not sure what there is to do besides fish / see the sights?

Any campgrounds you find / can review for me, please keep an eye out to see if they have swimming pools / camper hookups, etc. Would love to be "on the beach" campground wise sometime!

Great trip guys! The weather didn't cooperate too well, but we really enjoyed ourselves nontheless. I'm already looking foward to next year! I've stopped at my brothers house in Chesapeake for the night, but I'll try and post up a few pics.

My wife and I also wanted to thank you all for your hospitality and all the help around camp.

I'll tell ya, it's not easy keeping a 7 month pregnant wife happy on a camping trip, especially when it's 50 degrees w/30 mph winds, sleeping in a tent!

Jennifer could'nt get over how nice everyone was helping her with "chores", while I was busy cooking. We've got a great group of guys.

Next year I'll drive the 40 down. I just couldn't swing it with the family this time, for obvious reasons.

Can't wait to see some of your pictures ! Unfortunately, what I've posted, is about all I took. I know you guys got some great action shots.....Oh, and the heep on the tow truck. Classic.

Juan, I'm dying to see the ones of my daughter "driving" my truck on the beach! She had a ball sitting on my lap and steering!

mainer on the banks

Hi Greg and others,

It was really fun to meet a bunch of Cruiserheads in the banks! Sorry we couldn't join you for your run, we were heading north after camping out of Frisco Woods the previous week. We did drive all of Ocracoke and pretty much every beach and bayside access available from Nags head to Ocracoke. Beautiful time to be there - it was my third trip in the last 5 years, but the first off-season one. Full moon and stars from the point was awesome. We pulled all the 2nd and 3rd row seats and set up the 80 for indoor living which made it really nice on the colder and windy days - we could cook and hang out 'indoors' with the hatch open and the rig pointed into the wind. Like having a rolling dorm room of sorts. Put a yak box on the roof to stow all the gear.

If you're you're ever exploring in Maine drop me a line.

Mike and Margaret

Well I don't have any pictures to post as I FORGOT my camera.

Thank you Ramon for leading the way out there and Trailering with me. It made for a really easy trip out there. Also thank you to everyone else who helped out along the way with my Jalopy. For those that were there I went back in the evening to get my 40 and I turned the key and she started up on the first rotation of the starter and ran like a champ. I drove it up on the trailer and headed home. Made it home around 12:30 am.

Thank you to Joe, Maria, and Juan for giving me a ride in your COZY 80s for the rest of the afternoon. It was real luxery. Juan, sorry if I was grouchy on the way back. All I could think about was trying to get my 40 back on the trailer and home.

Brian I hope things go well for you out there today and you and I will be out there in Uwharrie to show every one else up in our REAL Land Cruisers. Hopefully you don't sustain any frost bite on the way home. And thank you for cruising around with me while it was running.

Scott. All I can say is you da man. Words can't explain #1 your hospitality and #2 your damn good cooking of which we all appreciate to no end.

And to the weather and wind (insert your favorite explative here)

Bring on the pictures and I will see you all soon I'm sure.

I just wanted to thank everyone for the help they provided myself, brother, and my cruiser. Thanks to Jared for trying to order the water pump, and Ramon for the trailering. Thanks to all for the knowledge on the troubleshooting, and my engine probably will thank you for making me not drive it all the way home!

I'll post some of my pics once I see my family for a little while...

I could care less about the weather, it was just great to be out amongst you all. Yes Saturday when the rain started I was starting to grow weary of it, but ah well.

Many thanks to everyone - except Fuzer - for tolerating Rex.

Greg, I very much appreciate you putting this all together! I know the logistics could not have been easy, but it came together and was a great time.

Scott, wow. Just wow. Your venison ranks up there with the best filet I've ever had. Simply amazing. Thank you so much.

Jared, as we were leaving I was zoned out. I got over to Roanoke Island and realized you weren't behind me any longer! My apologies for that.

Good times had by many! I'm a bit tired today, so no real diatribe...but wanted to thank everyone, especially Scott for all the food and cooking! Here's a couple of pictures and all can be seen here, but I was a bit selfish with the photos so most are of my cruiser.

Mustard 40 was a guy I gentleman I met that was at a beach access as we were crossing the Nags Head Bridge, he was a local that lived near the water tower near intersection of 12 and 64 (I think)

He said he had been trying to sell his cruiser (pretty rusty) to the guy at Outback Adventures for quite some time now.

Did you guys get to stop by Outback Adventures?

Yeah, we stopped, but nobody was around at the time. It was a nice place to stretch our legs and snoop around his 40's though.
