Arrow January Meeting (Second Sunday the 13th)

Guys, hope everyone is doing well....we have just had a wonderful group ride and hope to continue the interest. We will be having our first official club meeting of 2008 and hope everyone is able to come out with your family and friends. We will be meeting January 13th at Champps at South Point Mall off Fayetteville Road in Durham (Directions) at 3pm.

Agenda for the meeting will be as follows:
-Discuss registration
-Review club dues and explain payment and renewal process
-Discuss future plans and deadlines for TLCA sanctioning, vote on the issue
-Discuss future club functions (i.e. family events, swap meets, trail maintenance, future trail rides) and guidelines
-Introduce club BOD
-Suggestions from attendees

I hope those that don't have prior arrangements are able to attend as this will be very informative for those that are new and for those that have requested information in the past.

I am likely not going to make it given the travel time and distance involved.

Hopefully someone can provide an update for those who can't attend.

I look forward to the possibility of a meeting in the triad (High Point is ideal) at some point down the road, that's more feasible coming from CLT.

I have posted a link to this thread on the FJ Cruiser forums, Southeast section to see if I can attract some of them to attend. Here is the link to the thread...

1st Official Olde North State Cruiser TLCA meeting - Toyota FJ Cruiser Forum

The date is on my calendar and shouldn't have any conflicts. I hope I can find a way to contribute to the success of the club, at the very least, take tons of pics to promote the good times...

Greg, I was thinking - the main part of Southpoint is a mess, and there is no likelihood we can all park together. Is there a restaurant/bar across the street that might be good to meet at? At least over there, we'd all be within walking distance of one another.

I can't think of any restaurant near there where we could get 10-15 vehicles parked together. What might be a good option is to park in the remote part of the lot and/or have everyone get together for a "tour" before departing. That would be a good time to see each other's rigs and get a group pic for posterity. Just a thought...

There is Ted's Montana Grill ( eat some bison) across the street, and that's in the same parking lot as REI. Possibly get some space in there somewhere....

So has a location been determined and will dues need to be paid at this meeting (i.e. do I need to bring my checkbook)?

I should be making the commute, but probably not in the 40. The injectors are out being cleaned and I don't think I'll get them back and installed in time.

Greg posted the location - Champps at Southpoint in Durham. I've not seen anything about paying dues, esp since this meeting will be used to discuss and finalize them.

Are most people coming solo or are any of you bringing your kids? Also, are we planning on having dinner?

Please note: I called Champps and made a reservation for Sunday at 3PM for "Carolina Cruisers" (that was easier than telling them ONSC).

Due to the NFL Playoffs they are not doing formal reservations, but rather call-ahead - so our group might be able to be seated at 3PM, or it may be a few minutes later, or it may be 30 mins.

Please tell the hostess you are with CAROLINA CRUISERS!

My family will be in town this weekend and I won't be "showing them the door" at 2:30. Soooo, if they decide to leave in time for me to make it, I will see you all there. In the 40 if this weather holds up (top's still off).

If I don't make it, my proxy will be with Foozer (Juan's dog, did I spell that right Sol?). Just kidding. I hope I don't have to miss it, but I don't get to see my family very often. If I don't show, pour a little out for me

Wish I could make it but scheduled all my buddies over the house and only "one manly event" per weekend allowed according to the wife!

We MIGHT still make it in, trying to entice her with thoughts of the Cheesecake Factory and shopping as well on our visit, but wouldn't hold ur breath!

His house is certainly closer to most people than my neighbor's shop....fine with me.

Glad to see the positive turnout, and hope everyone keeps a positive motivated attitude towards the clubs growth. I hope all the information was as informative as I had anticipated.

It was good to see a lot of new faces at this months meeting.

In the coming weeks we should have a pretty decent calendar/schedule for at least the next two months activities as discussed.
