Great pictures. Weather must have been perfect. I might as well go ahead and explained why I had to bail....
Friday night, 9:30 PM, I'm loading everything into my truck and getting the Cruiser ready to roll; it's sitting in my driveway. I went to turn the ignition to "ACC" to check the fuel level and got a surprise...she cranked right up. While some other times this would not have been a big deal, this time she was about 1 foot from my garage door, which was down and she was in LOW range, 1st gear. Well, to make a long story short, I will be getting a new garage door next week. Turns out I have a intermitten short in the ignitioin (I was able to recreate it). Hate I missed the ride!!!!

Sorry to hear that, you were missed. Joe brought a couple of his co-workers with 4rnr's and they did great.
It was a perfect day for being on the trails. I can't give you any grief since I've missed many events this past year and none had as good of an excuse as your's. But, I'm sure others will give you some smack for missing out...

Jerry, those are great shots! Some of them are even artistic!
Thanks for the numerous shots of me kissing the rocker.
We couldn't have got a better weekend in December than this one. It was unbelieveable, and last night was perfect. We had a great time on the trails and around the fire last night. Thanks again Greg for pulling this all together!
O and btw, in that pic, that was my "do what you have to do to not fall on your ass" move.

I'll have to make sure and stay over next time so I won't miss the night run and the trail re-hash around the fire.
Yes, I wanted to provide all the ammo you may need to justify the expense for some sliders. Just a little bit of protection can go a long way on some of those trails. I should know, I used mine a number of times.
I agree, big thanks to Greg for pulling this together. We couldn't have asked for a better day being in short sleeves in December...

First off, I would like to thank everyone that was able to make it out, we had a great group and it seemed as if everyone had a good time. We couldn't have asked for better weather for an event such as this so late in the year, which made the Saturday ride that much more enjoyable. Even due to the trail closures, we were able to re-route so that everyone was able to enjoy the ride even those with minimal experience and vehicle modifications.
We started out Saturday morning running Wolfs Den to Slab Pile, however due to the early morning and poor trail navigation (sorry guys) we re-routed taking Dutch John over to Sawmill and then taking Rocky Mount over Kodak Rock and then out to the main road to eat lunch and re-group, letting those less modified vehicles or those who wished to see Daniel before making their first attempt at it ride in any of the vehicles that had open seats. We finished the day running Daniel and had a very safe and enjoyable trail ride with no breakdowns and very little trail carnage....
Saturday night was an enjoyable night around the campfire discussing future trail rides and also upcoming family events for the club. We finished the night with a Raffle which was provided by Upstate Cruisers with Bill providing an entertaining descriptiong of each item. Items included a Camo Toyota Hat, ARB D-Ring, and a ARB Tree-Saver strap. Joe (Little_joe) won the ARB Tree Saver, Brad won the ARB D-Ring, and Barry Mccoin (Rutbeer) won the Camo Toyota Hat.
I would like to also thank Jerry for his time in taking numerous photos for the club and those which he has provided to us, we will have the remainder available to us in the next few days, and Upstate Cruisers for their support in not only the Raffle but also the arrangements as well.
Look forward to the Part V(Fall) and Part VI(Spring).....
Greg

Jerry, thanks again for the ride up Daniel. When I get a little protection, I'll take the 80 up there, fun trail.
One other cool thing about the weekend - at some point, my "D" light started working again!

Will post mine up later this week, forgot to snag the card out of the camera this morning.
Enjoyed the heck out of it, meeting everyone for the first time. If anyone has pictures of my white 80 getting the rocker dmg on the section just before Kodak I would love to have those (or any of it actually)
Rocker protection was already on my to do list, the dmg wasn't anything that made me feel bad because I already am going to repaint the whole thing in the spring anyway. I just bought the 80 the day after Thxgiving or so, POs had been hit in right rear corner which is a great excuse for a new bumper too.
Will drop back in here to link to my pix as soon as I get em uploaded to my webshots acct.
Sam

Being a broke college student 3.5 hours away sucks...I wanted so bad to make this trip, but with a big Snow Shoe, WV trip coming up I couldn't afford it. Looks like you guys had a blast.

Great pics Sam, Oh I've been enlightened on the importance of sliders for a while, thats exactly why I sought the safe haven that is the parking lot 'til I get some sliders.

So, Friday, from 8:30am to 8:45pm...rebuilt the front end on the 80!
Yeah I am slow...worse part is the stupid felt/rubber/metal ring thing on the back, that durn cover with the 10mm bolts took a while to all line up right. And the gaskets on the spindle/dust cover etc also a major pita to all line up, sigh.
Dad spent the morning pulling out the rocker dent too, basically to fix this he used a custom made air punch to put in the holes (instead of drilling) and then used a slide hammer to pull the dent out.
Filled up and smoothed out the remaining dents with fiberglass (aka plastic), did a coat of undercoat to get the textured look again and then a couple coats of rattlecan white to finish it all off. Not too bad for a $0 cost job, all stuff we had laying around the garage.
Sliders will be on before the next trip, with Tax season approaching I will be working weekends until April 16th!!! Figured you might want to see the repair folks!
