Nice man, that first shot of your cruiser is great! How'd the assist work for ya?

Glad to see benjie traded the polo shirt for a wife-beater too..

Looks reeeeally dry, were the creeks all dried up?

The hydro assist worked great! I do have a couple of minor clearance issues to work out. It was very dry, most of the creeks were dry, but there was water in the larger/deeper ones.

The only carnage I had was a broken front leaf spring that was already slightly bent. I did flop the Cruiser again, but was able to drive out of it.

You need some heavier axles to help keep you planted..

I may have been there before, back around 2000 or 1999. Is it owned by a guy who has/had a bunch of humvees and also owns an injection mold company that makes cell phones? It's like 1,200 acres.

RK, i thought i remember you running 3/4 elliptical springs in the rear when i came up and purchased those nitto's from you? did you change that or was i hallucinating?

Nope, I've always had full leaf springs in the rear. That will be changing soon though...

Yeah, we're doing a 3/4 eliptical WITH revolvers! It's gonna be sick, it'll ramp like crazy!

(What, was I not supposed to let the cat out of the bag?)

That was one cool trip when i went years ago. That is what helped get me the cruiser bug. I was riding shotgun with my buddy Hunter Sparrow in his green 40. That was before digital cameras, so i have some regular pictures, but nothing digital.

I rode with the owner in his Humvee for a while when one of the fellas....i wish i could remember his name....broke a pinion at the bottom of a hill climb, so hunter stayed to help him fix it and i jumped in the humvee. He had one hell of a shop too. Huge shop, clean with every tool you could imagine.

I hate i can't remember anyone's name though. It was a long time ago. I do remember a guy named Bruce who is from Winston Salem and he had a white tacoma. I remember another guy in his green 40 that had a buick motor in it, he was from Virginia.

Hunter's still got that cruiser, it's pretty badass these days..

I see Moorefield riding shotgun, that's hilarious!

Looks like one or both of the Hamilton's...

Oh, and those Hummer's are beat to hell these days. the white one won't go over 45 or so...

I need to get up with Hunter. I haven't talked to him since we graduated from WCU. I bought his dirtbike a few years ago and then i think he moved to murphy and i never heard from him again. Remenicing the old days, I remember when he finally put a vortec in it and a SM420 transmission in it in cullowhee. That was the last i saw of him.

Is Moorefield the "big" guy or are you talking about Terry? The "big" guy was at that trip with his son. He ended up busting a birfield and something else trying to hop up a hill. So he rode the next two days. But his and his son's cruisers were very nice!

"Moorefield" is Terry, he is the one with the beard riding shotgun in the brighter green Cruiser. He's riding with Will Leaman. Will is from Virginia, and his Cruiser has a 302 in it.

That's Jack in the darker green FJ40. That's the same Cruiser he wheels now, it's just tan these days. It's the tan FJ40 in the pics I posted above.

Larry Hamilton is the big guy riding with Jack. His son Bryan used to wheel an FJ40 also.

The last time I saw Hunter was last summer. He had tubed the back half of his Cruiser when I saw it. He has a V8, but it's not a Vortec unless he's swapped one in recently.

Cool.

I saw Terry moorfield at a driveshaft shop in Winston-Salem when i was getting a DC shaft built for my 80. THat was about 2 years ago. He said he still wheels a little but not much.

I remember Will very well. He was a super nice guy. I remember he was the only one who drove his rig, wheeled it, and then drove home. Everyone else towed them there.

He could have put a V8 in his rig. Like i said, last i saw or talked to him was when we were still students at WCU and after he got finished hiking the entire Appalachian trail solo. He got tired of not having enough power on the road so he got a vortec v6 in it.

If you guys see Hunter, tell him Alex said hello and thanks him for the cruiser addiction.

Glad the assist is working out for ya RK. That was the best working hydro assist that i had ever driven. When the buggy is done we need to get up and ride sometime.

We'll get together when your buggy is done Sam, for sure. The hydro-assist is working good!

The blue/silver Scrambler in the pics is in the latest issue of Low-Range magazine. It belongs to J.C. Oliver, one of the guys in TN that we wheel with.

There is a good pic of Hunter's Cruiser as I last saw it in this link. It's in the 3rd pic down.

also RK, dont forget Rick...

His rig is the Portal Axle shooting for the sky, while working the rear Stear...

One of these Days he is going to learn, but so far 3-4 Rear Shafts he hasnt, its a disease for him.
