NOT Selling my 40 anymore

********well I've decided not to sell the cruiser. I just can't let her go.***********

Well it's with a heavy heart I've decided to sell my 40. The wife and I have a baby on the way and I'll be looking to invest in an 80. I am sure I'll have another 40 later down the road, but for now this is the right thing to do. Details below:

1979 Toyota Landcruiser FJ 40 4x4
4.2 Liter inline 6 Cyl 135 HP
4 spd manual transmission
Color: Alpine white
4 wheel disc brake conversion
6 point roll cage
OME shocks
Hell For Stout front bumper
5 33 x 9.50 BFG all terrains on stock wheels
4 32 x 10.50 Super Swampers TSL radials on black rock crawler wheels (2 tires like new, 2 tires approx 50%)
Diamond plate tailgate
New starter, muffler and NC inspection
Includes soft top, bikini top, and full hard top and doors
Also have a lot of extra parts, Fenders, brake drums, Pintle hook hitch
$3,700

The cruiser was rolled by the PO. I replaced the hood, windshield frame, glass and wiper motor. There is some rust on the truck, but it runs perfect. The only thing this 40 needs is some body work. I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. It’s been through every trail at Uwharrie and didn’t have a bit of trouble. If you have any questions, just shoot me a PM and I'll gladly answer the best I can. I would like to sell it as quickly as possible. The longer it sits here, the more time I have to talk myself out of it. This will have to be pickup only due to the amount of extra parts that are included.

edit--I am going to keep the nose guard and have lowered the price

Eric - sometimes family changes make for tough decisions but they will all work themselves out in the long run. I wish I had the disposable income to take it home. I know it deserves a good home to be taken care of and wheeled hard. Good luck finding a more "family friendly" off-roader...

Well Jerry, I just couldn't do it. I was afraid if I didn't sell it quick I would change my mind. I just can't bear the thought of getting rid of it. The kicker was when Stacy and I took it out this weekend, this older guy pointed at it and told his young son "that's the toughest thing ever made. You can't kill it". That put me over the top. I'll probably pull it off the road at some point and work on the rust and some other little things. Hell I may even put a new tub on it.

That's a good story and I like the outcome Eric. Sounds like you ultimately went with your heart; a decision you won't regret.

Regardless of what happens on 11/5, we need to come together and beat this partisan BS!!

thanks guys. selling it would have been the right thing to do, but Stacy and I just could not do it. we just love our 40. I am sure we could have found another, but it just wouldn't have been the same.
