Tire advice from this bunch

The 80's getting close to being ready for new tires. The 265/75-16 Geolander AT II's have been nice for about 37K; they're discontinued but still around in warehouses. Pondering spending a bit more to shift to BFGs this time.

There're endless comments on the general MUD section about this - but how about some from yall who've been running AT's and MT's - recall that Heath and Clutchee at least have some? Much more road time than TN mud time - leaving what most DDs ponder - how do BFG AT's do when you are in the goo and how long MT's last on the road.

and do you know anyone running 255/85's w/o spacers ... and how they like 'em.

BFG AT's get my vote for a rig that gets used like yours. They clean out in mud better than any other AT I've ever run. MT's pull a lot better, but you'll need them about 1% of the life of the tire. You have two lockers to help out if you need more traction. As far as fit, dunno much about 80's.

I got about 50K miles out of my last set of AT's. 1/3 of that was on my last 4 runner. The rest on my truck. Last I heard the guy that bought Jes's 62 two years ago was still running them.

BFG All Terrain TA-KO

or

Bridgestone Dueler Revo AT

might consider buying before July 1 prices going up on most brands 5 to 10% in July.

I have the Bridgestone on my 80 and they are great.

This is what I am running on my tow rig/Z71. They are 285/75/16. I love the look of this tire. Does alright at deer camp. Rides very well on the highway. As Chris said though, you may want to consider bridgestone if for no other reason than the price.

Only buy tires from Chris Tolleson at 49 Tire!!! Worth the drive.

I had AT's on Olivia and now on the 80, and have been quite pleased with them....
