The Ultimate Honda Trailbike Tech Thread (possible NSFW)
you need to check this out
all joking aside, this is a serious thread for collecting tech on small SOHC honda trailbikes. Things like parts links, info links and tech discussions. I have a 1965 CT200, a 1973 CT90 and a 1983 CT70. Feel free to post up content or questions about these and similar bikes.

Very nice old Honda gallery site with some excellent year/model info.
Honda Gallery
I found out my ST90 is a K1 model and only came in yellow that year.

I found a source for manuals, reprints of the actual factory manuals I think.
Go to World of Powersports 800-432-8937 and download their " Parts Numbers of Honda Manuals", which is a PDF, and write down the part numbers for your service manual and owner's manual. Then go to their " Order by Part #" page and enter those numbers.
Shipping is kinda steep but my factory service manual is only $6.03

Remember the shocks I installed on the '79 CT90 during TUTaPII? Well, I just installed another identical set on the '70 CT90 and got the very same positive result. With my weight, these new shocks (purchased off eBay) have been a perfect replacement for tired OEM shocks. Here's a link: eBay Motors: NEW HONDA CT70 CHROME REAR SHOCKS (CT70, CT90) (item 370080418398 end time Aug-31-08 11:32:23 PDT)
Sean, I think that since these work on the CT70's, they'll also work on the ST90 too. I did have to knock out the metal section that they have installed in the rubber bushing on the upper end; however, that was no problem (much easier with your equipment though.)

for a site full of minibike geeks (kind of low on CT90 info) try Planet Minis
theres a vintage section, and a for sale section, a few guys on there have some nice z50/monkey builds, replicas.

What a great and timely thread! I just scored a pretty nice '74 z50 off Craig's List. New tires, complete(except for the headlight bucket assembly) and it starts first kick......$500
Had to tell someone

It is dirty(had to ride it yesterday) but generally complete. Headlight is not correct and the footpegs are aftermarket, seat needs some serious attention, but it runs and has new tires
Good Winter project
In the pics it looks like the tank is all beat-to-shit, but those are some decals someone put on.

In '74(according to the link you posted) they were only available in two colors "Candy Sapphire Blue and Candy Topaz ", so if you know your colors, that is a good indication of what year it was produced.
Any good way to get dents out of a gas tank? I hate to just bondo them.
Ed

depending on the dent, i wonder if you could seal it up tight and use compressed air to pop it out? other than that, maybe those suction cup dent pullers?

Looks nice, much nicer than the two z50 projects I have.
As far as dents go, both of mine are dented somewhat, the less dented one has a lot of rust inside. I was keeping an eye out on ebay for a better tank, but it seems like decent ones go for quite a bit.
Are the dents from the handlebars? If so, might want to make sure the stop is working good before fixing it.
Now lets see a pic of you riding it
I'll find one of me on my China monkey clone if you do.

The guys I know that fix tanks all have special dollys they made out of ball bearings (some rather large) welded to bent rod that they insert through the gas filler hole and use with a hammer.
I also know some guys that just cut out the dented area and straighten it on a bench and then weld the piece back in.
Good thread Semilin. I have a '70 CT90, a '65 CA77 and a '74 MT250. I also have several other brand of similar vintage.
