Last year it was around freezing at night for a low and sweatshirt weather in the day. Could be warmer but probably not colder. No hotels close. Would be a camping trip. Loud or quiet as you want as far as family setting. The park is as large as flat Nasty with different campgrounds built all around and throughout the park. The FJ cruisers take up one camp( 55 last year). The TTORA group heads up another(40+). Landcrusier had a small camp last year with about 10 trucks. Another motorhome group camped up on top in the wind by the gate. They have 3 showers at the gate house also. I think there was porta potties around also but am not positive on that.
I imagine there were hotels within a 20 min drive. Lot of camping and night life. No night wheeling but folks would drive from camp to camp visiting folks all evening.
