Bryan,
I know a few of us are heading to Moab and leaving from Kansas City for Cruise Moab 07'. Would love to have more folks added to the caravan if any of you St. Louis guys want to tag along with some us from the West Side!

Over here in Edwardsville
I am in Edwardsville, near the university.
I know there are a couple of members over this way but don't know them either.
We should definitly plan a get together.
I for one have very wierd schedule which makes it really hard to plan ahead.
Long story short, tell me when and where and I will try to make it.

geez, I didn't even know there was a forum for clubs!
XT, after I talked to you last week about starting a club in St. Louis, I also spoke with MoJ and wfd175. Both are interested and are in the Union, MO area.
MoJ was trying to plan a trip to Flat Nasty (850 miles of off-road trails just south of Salem, MO) in the next few weeks, so perhaps we should get a date set and see how many people want to show up for a day-trip. I know your V8 80 won't be ready by then, but you can bring the 4runner or knock out the RR
As I mentioned, I've been thinking about a St. Louis club since the 80sCool site, so I'd be happy to talk with TLCA about a chapter or I can talk with TAC about just being a branch of their group (though a Muddy River Cruisers group sounds pretty cool )
Either way, I'm in for a group to go wheeling in the near future. In an effort to start figuring out a date I'll volunteer the dates that work for me.
I'm out for sure Feb 22-26 (Vail) and possibly the weekend before that (for a little R&R with the wife to Amelia Island, FL - but this could fall through still). Then I'm out again March 16 through April 8. So I guess the best time for me would be Saturday March 10 (which is the weekend of the Flat Nasty "15 hour nightmare" which might also be fun to watch ).
The cost for Flat Nasty is $15 per vehicle(driver) plus $5 per extra passenger. You can check out their web site and a great video of the Toyota FJ team at Flat Nasty last year (with our own Romer and MoJ - and possibly others from Mud that I don't know about).
So lets hear who could make a Flat Nasty run on Saturday March 10th!

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAAHAHAHH, welcome !
It looks like St.louis has quite a few Mud members. lets keep this list going- tell any other members who are in the Bistate area to post up if they can so we can get a head count.
I would like to eventually set up a day in the month (1st mon, tue, wed, thurs, fri,)we can meet at a local resteraunt/bar to discuss montly events, trips even to help out each other with tech related issues.
many of us have alot of offroad experiance as well as having been to many off road parks/areas which we can share the info good and bad on what trips we liked/didnt like.
I have a LARGE shop downtown which everyone is welcome to use (within reason) I have an arc/tig/mig welder as well as a JDM tube bender and drill press yada yada yada. the shop is centrally located in st.louis and can become a meeting point before trips (to tidy up any nagging last minute problems).
to everyone who has posted so far and has volunteered to help out, this is a good Idea- lets keep it going. (if the Land Rover owners can get a club going in st.louis.... so can Toyota owners!)

A few Thoughts
First, let me say that I met Bryan (XT1) recently, and he is a very nice guy, and very willing to share his knowledge (and has a shop and tools - what more could you want ).
Second, it sounds like March 10th works for a few people (including me!) so I say we start planning in that direction.
Third, I think a regularly scheduled meeting at the local Hooters (or I guess Applebee's would work) is a great plan. I know there is a ton of stuff I'm looking to do with my 80 once the weather gets better, and I'd love to talk it over with others first.
Finally, Gateway City Cruisers is another great name. I think there is a capital city crawlers in the Jeff City area that owns or maintains the Potawatomi Offroad Park in Fulton, MO (another great trip destination).
Glad to meet you all!

Good to see you guys looking into starting a club. Josh(jester_motorsports) and I have corresponded for quite some time and several times he had expressed an interest in meeting Toyota offroaders in his area. I met Josh at the Tall Corn Offroad Event this past fall. Great guy! Since the Tall Corn offroad event a group of us in Iowa started a TLCA chapter. Just a couple weeks ago it was approved.
Good luck with getting an organized club going.
All of you are welcome to come to the Tall Corn Cruiser Classic Sept. 7-9. It is open to all Toyota owners, not just TLCA members.

lets start putting together a night in the week we can meet (like I said which first -mon,tues,wed,thurs,fri, ) will work best for all you guys??!
Hooters was suggested this would be fine till we get some lady members and as long as they are cool with that fine but if not we can work something out.

I'd be more than happy to help organize anything and everything to get something going for the STL metro area. So far, I've made trips to Hot Springs, AR and Hamilton, IA to wheel. Some other friends and I have a trip to Moab planned for the end of May. I'm also a native of Hannibal where the new Hannibal Rocks park is located (owned by the same folks as Rockport Offroad Park). They're some great people up there and I'm sure we could put together some events pretty easily. Anyway, enough rambling. Contact me here, on TTORA (same screen name) or by email at jester_motorsports@yahoo.com I'm unfortunately currently unemployed so I've got some free time on my hands to work on whatever.

lets try and keep all correspondence in one place for now, so we can have an accurate head count and some input as we are setting this up with everyone, just have anyone post up here or let them know when we will be meeting
I am Toyota truck guy as well (and a couple of 80cruisers and 4runner) I will be wheeling my four runner at flat and nasty

Marty let me know what works for you, we are thinking a monthly meeting and we are picking a night in the first week of the month to meet and eat/drink/socialize, plan events and to get a newsletter with upcoming trips/events/birthdays etc.

I can't do wednesday or friday really ever, and tuesday and thursday are often out for me too, so I guess monday is the only night I can commit to right now.

Jester.... Mail it to Extremetoy1@yahoo.com
I will compile an email database to use for the group.
we do need to maybe meet up on a sunday (?) to discuss and start to structure a club/group so it can grow...any suggestions here would be great.... I know there are some other members who are on this forum who dont go into chat or look in other forums for whatever reason

hey just got to this thread.......I would love to meet at Flatnasty(especially since it is 30 minutes from my apartment)....i like the idea of starting a club.
KC seems to be the center for TAC(correct me if i am wrong) and I know its not that far but it seems to be a long distance away. Rolla is the dead spot of Missouri due to it being in the center of Springfield, KC, STL, Jeff C, and Columbia.
Let me know.....probably can't make alot of weekly meetings but ya never know.

he said that March 10th is the weekend before the big St Pats party here that UMR is reknowned for so I'm not sure what he has planned.

What kind of planning does he need for that huh?
if not he is still welcome to meet up with us on a later trip/meetings (there are some fair trails in the national forest south of you at exit 169devils elbow)

welcome..... just got both Lunyou's and your (Dans) emails. thanks for posting up, so far so good (just this forum alone has produced 13 of us in just over 1 week)
I will make a list of names and corresponding screen names of who is interested so far and PM all of you with this info...
If you would like, I will make a list of names/screennames/ and the 4x4s they own if you want I will post this list of vehicles.ownersscreennames/names as this grows. I will not post anyones info if they would rather I not.
again thanks for your interest so far everyone and to remind March 10th FLATNASTYin southern Mo. (click name for map and park details) I will call the park and confirm that we wont have a conflicting schedule with anyone/group (there will be 2 J33P runs this month so it may be littered with j33p parts still )
the fees are 15 per vehicle/driver, each PASS is 5.00 extra
The weekend of the 10-11th the park is having a "nightmare" 15 hr trail ride overnight the req. are 35" locker fr/rr and winch- raffle the next morning for the "survivors" and breakfast. 75.00 for those interested..... (motivation to finish my crawler?!)
I look forward to meeting everyone and watching the group grow

Darren, there is a small group of us in Springfield. We wheel around here and in arkansas. Get me some info and you can link up with us. We are trying to put together a informal monthly meeting to discuss upcomming events. It may someday lead to a L/C club.
