Also, the passenger side rear door panel is a mess, the lower corner of the panel got kicked when a rhinoceros (well actually a teenager in snow clothes) kicked it. The board is cracked and needs to be replaced. The local dealer said he can't get them. Any ideas? |
Im also curious about this.
Ive been lurking about waiting for a grand announcement about new leather option for the early 80 series cruisers (with seat heaters)
Is this a future plan possibly??

As far as the door panel, try Welcome to CruiserParts.net or Specter Off-Road, Inc.-Landcruiser Parts & Accessories Quote:

Later, Shane went the extra mile and started offering the "Correct" sets, completely replicating Toyota's initial offering.
Elmariachi, who I consider to be amongst the foremost experts on these trucks, (and as anal/OCD a man as I've ever met!) purchased a correct set of the 40th pattern and did a complete write-up on installation. He was pleased and the pictures were amazing. Good enough for Jim, probably way too good for me!
The tax man provided the funds in 2009 and I ordered a set of Correct 40th Anniversary leathers for everything but my 3rd row in my 1997 40th Anniversary 80. Shane was a pleasure to deal with. His communications are as good or better than any full-time 4wd parts dealers I've ever dealt with.
My leather arrived about 3 weeks after I'd ordered them. These things are beautiful.
My kids are 5, 6 and 8. I am hesitant to install these, they are so nice.
I plan to shop around for some professional quotes, but may very well end up making it a husband/wife project. I will post a picture of the leathers later today, and then some before and after pictures once I get them installed.
If you have any doubts about these, put them to rest. These are high quality replications of the leather that was installed back when your truck was new...and probably nicer/more durable than the originals.
Thanks, Shane! | Thank you sir! |

| I noticed in the pictures that all the seats are power. I have a poverty pack '94 80 that was fitted with leather at the port on all three rows and the doors.
Can you make/get kits without the power control cutout for the fronts? Any cost change? I'd really like to get a set in tan for the front and middles.
Thanks

| I have that kit. The only difference is it will NOT have the 1" strip in the face. They will look just like the ones in the LX450 leather thread in the vendor section.
Same price as the Toyota ones above.

| Few "Extra" holes... Shane,
So let's just say that someone (whom shall remain nameless..but looks just like my dumbass) punched a few holes in the seat backs for the front row.... What exactly are my options at the moment??
Basically, took the seats down together to be able to work on the back panels.. had no reference and punched the damn holes in the seat back thinking the brackets were on the outside.. my bad.. I admit it.. I'm a dumbass.
So..
1. Extra material you could sell me?
2. Seat panels for backs of front row?
3. Sell only the seat backs for front row??
Thanks much
...and I'll post the pics of my foolishness later.
By the way.. the craftsmanship and quality of the seats are phenomenal.. They are simply awesome. This will be the best thing I've done for the truck... already they make it look YEARS younger..
thanks again for an awesome product.
Scott

| New to the site, need 80 series leather fronts Do you have the smooth (non-embossed) leather for the tan interior? I saw the orange ones on your post but I was hoping to replicate the factory grain leather. Please let me know. Excellent product, by the way!! jnauck@hotmail.com |

| LX-450 Shane, first thanks for the covers and as promised, my pics... the good the not so good, the UGLY and hopefully a few helpful pics and the final product.
1. I think the seats are a job for the most part.
2. The side panels are a totally different matter.
A few parts to see what they look like and where the catches are:
Control panel on the side of the seat:
Headrest peg:
Knob for seat and knob puller:
Fasteners for the back part of the seat.. they hold on the map pocket:
These bolts:
Need to come out of here and are gotten by aligning them w/ the hole before removing the seat:
and here to remove the seat:
As much as this hurts, I'll put the pics up:
Don't do this:
Knew the backs needed to be glued / recovered together and so took both seats apart at the same time and didn't remember the brackets go on the INSIDE (unlike the back) and got a few "extra" holes.. ouch. Thanks to Shane for saving my A$$ and only cost me a little extra $$$ to replace them but was worth doing it right.
Finished product:
Thanks again Shane. I can't tell you what it did to my rig. It looks AWESOME and nothing beats leather.
Thanks to Paul Kegley for all the help. I'd recommend this mod to anyone and send em your way.
Thanks
Scott
