fj60 & 62 extended sway bar links
hey guys.
i finished installing an OME lift on a customer's fj60 not long ago and was'nt happy with the stock sway bar links. they were too short, causing the sway bar to hit the axle tubing and possibly causing shock damage under articulation. i had seen some extended sway bar links but wanted to build something beefier. so here's what i came up with:
this kit will work with 2-4" lifts on fj60s and fj62. includes a grade 9 allen bolt, all new polyurethane sway bar link bushings, grade 8 washers, grade 8 locknut and .120 wall dom tubing for the extended sleeves.
some of you might say it's overkill, but the stronger components did'nt cost that much more and the last hing i wanted to end up with was a bent sway bar link on a customers' vehicle, especially since i made them.
cost is $34.95 for a pair, shipping in the continental usa is $5. i can also make custom length units for a little more.
UPDATE!!!!!!!
the kit shown in the pic below will work for 2-3" lifts. i now also have a kit for 3-5" lifts. i could not find the allen bolt for a reasonable price ( cheapest i found was $18.63 each ) o i ended up going with grade 8 hex bolts. even those were difficult to find in the length required. anyways, price on this kit is aht same even though the material cost is a little higher. pic of the longer links at the bottom of the thread.
i plan on doing some fj62 rear links as well, stay tuned for more info.

Think these would be long enough for a 4" lift with 1.5" overstock shackles? If so, i'll take a set of the ones made. Or I can get measurements for you to make another size.
Thanks
Jeremy

hey jereme.
thanks for the reply. i think that lift would be pushing the ones shown above. i can make you a longer set for not much more. take some measurements and i'll make it happen.
thanks again!

Can you make extended links for the rear of the FJ62?

somebody on here was making HD links for the 80s. they used a much heavier bottom brackett which was then welded to the upright. if we can get a few of those bottom bracketts, then i'll be more than happy to make some longer 62 rear links with them. as long as that mud member is cool with me doing so.....

UPDATE!!!!!!
i finally have kits for taller lifts available as well. i could not find the allen head bolts for a reasonable price; the cheapest i found them was $18.63 each.
so i opted for going with grade 8 hex bolts, which were'nt that easy to find either. even though the component cost for this kit is a little higher, i will offer these at the same price.
these extra long links will work on fj6x series trucks with 3-5 inches of lift.
here's a pic of both links, the extended and extra long version. i will try to get a pic of them with a stocker as well for size comparison.
thanks again guys!

one word?! nope
but i have every intention on getting the project done. my wife was gone for 2 weeks (business trip) so i had to take care of the kids and house. that left precious little time to do anything, especially R&D type work. on top of that i pinched a nerve in my neck which is finally getting better 2 weeks later......
so if you're in a hurry, i'm afraid i can't help you out right now. i need to get caught up on other projects that have been at the shop for too long.
sorry if i'm being brutally honest, but i don't wnat to make any promises i can't keep.
thanks again!

Naw, not in a hurry in the least...I'd have to get the "Lift" for my FJ60 first! I just want to have one when I do get the lift, but that won't be happening for a while.
Btw, I know how much a pinched nerve feels. It's actually a swelling of what surronds the nerve that causes the pain. I remember feeling pain down my arm and in my fingers.
Believe it or not, medicine, along with a Chiropractor helped.

Slap me on the list too. -No huge rush. I've been running without swaybar links for about a month now so I can wait longer!!
Just let me know when you've got some and I'll send you money.
Thanks!

A "Set" is 4 of them right?
I have a CS004 OME lift, so would I need the long or the extra long?

this add is for the front links, as mentioned above. i have not pursues the rear links since another mudder makes and sells them on here. there's no sense in me duplicating the parts and stepping on somebody's toes. if they become "unavailable" then i'll think about making them.
thanks a lot!
