The point of the viscous coupling is not to stop the fan from spinning. No one cars if it spins freely. The point is to reduce the amount of drag that the fan creates... the amount of power it uses moving air. When the engine temps climb and the...
A fan takes incredible energy, so as Jon says it is always pushing SOME air. But it's designed to save power/fuel when not needed and one way to look at it versus the old days when the fans were belt driven and always at max flow/fuel sucking...
FYI, I daily at 28 to 30 psi on my 315 Toyo AT3s. If I'm loaded for a trip I'll go up to 33 or so. If im pulling my M416 with stuff I'll go to 35.
Each tire is load rated for more than half the entire weight of the truck.
Do you get a CHECK ENGINE light when the key is in the ON position before cranking the starter?
If no, then a quick diagnosis would be to unplug the AFM by lifting the spring clip on the connector and see if the CEL illuminates. If the CEL comes...
Hey I have done basically 1000 miles on this Camel it is running like a swiss watch . I towed a trailer the whole way . at 65 ,70 it was a dream . Manx in the sunshine 2024 .
Yeah I know the name isn’t original, nor is the over all progress, but the purpose might as well be. (Edit title)
I told the wife if she let me build a Land Cruiser, I would take her and the family to Alaska to see her cousins in it this coming...
So I thought I was done, but it had a slow start/long crank situation. I read a bunch on here and google searching my symptoms. Had a strong gas smell from the exhaust after the long crank startup. I guess one of the inexpensive Amazon injectors...
I had a low idle for years on my 94, it would be around 400rpm and sometimes drop as low as 200rpm. Here's what solved mine:
- Remove and clean the IAC sensor, test for functionality per the FSM (stepper motor), run it all the way open and...
For my LX450 I used:
And for the clearcoat:
I should have done a bit more fine sanding, but they look pretty good if you don't get REAL close. I didn't want to bother with the gold inlay. I never really liked it anyway.
They are ALMOST a...
I'm assuming you're referring to connector I12 as shown in the EWD for the ignition switch, but it's difficult to tell from the pics.
The part number for the housing is 90980−10862.
The individual pins with pigtails are 82998-12380.
On my 33's i run 32psi cold, on 35's I'd start there and maybe go down to 30psi.
FWIW I was able to get 60k miles out of my BFG KO2's and they were evenly worn at 32psi.
If I had a bunch of gear or armor I'd go up a few psi to compensate for...
