Just wanted to share some photos the builder sent me this morning of the car. There is still a snag list of things to do but the car is around 99% done and I'm flying out this week to check it in person before they ship it over.
The FJ is a...
Just a quick update, my FJ is nearly done, today was the first test drive and a few issues popped up but nothing major. The color is looking amazing though.
Just a quick update for anyone going through the same issue as me. I had my body shop paint a damaged fender they had in Nebula Green and once painted on a large panel the color looked a lot lighter than the small card sample. It looks like what...
All finished and initial torque settings done. Will check after a few weeks. Greased up and double checked everything. All in all, good experience but those pins…they are Satan’s spawn. Never want to do that again. Right now, 3” raise and...
What an experience. Never learned so much about this classic rig in my life. Really good experience, invited some friends, had a few beers, a lot of laughs, a competition who could remove the rear pin/fixed mounting the quickest (I won with the...
Well the massive pneumatic hammer didn’t budge this 43 year old hardware an inch. Just shocked. Ended up with the drilling pilot holes and then sprayed penetrating oil in the holes and letting it sit for a few minutes and then using the BFG to...
Hello,
My name is JM, just wanted to introduce myself to the forum, just acquired this 1974 FJ55 from my brother (who had too many toys to take care of). I work and live out of Los Angeles, CA and have loved to tinker and work on cars all of my...

Got together for another work day yesterday. Installed a Console - CCOT's FJ40 Classic Console w/Stereo Den - https://www.coolcruisers.com/conccotfj.html console, with upholders! Looks great and should work well!
Thank you all for the great expert tips - even the ‘put a wrench on it’ one!
I’m happy to say the winner was soaking it with a penetrating oil and then using an easy out. Couldn’t have been easier. I hope one day I’ll have this kind of expertise...
I've always appreciated the optimism from the folks on MUD. I've got a long history with this vehicle so I'll work on pulling the engine/transmission/transfer case and see what's going on. I've got a small leak in the transmission and the...
That’s a nice rig with all the mods everybody wants. I would pull plugs and get a borescope to see what’s up. Pull valve cover and inspect. See if u can turn it over with plugs out? it's Going to be worth more running.
