I just spoke Tom of Tom Woods Driveshafts and he mentioned that he would not expect any noise at a 4-5* operating angle. I'll go drive it around more the next couple weeks and if it doesn't get better they will take it back and run it through QC...
After lifting an 80 series past a certain point and or correcting the front castor to account for the lift, a double cardan (DC) joint drive shaft will be needed. Slee Off-Road offers an excellent solution with all new quality Spicer joints and...
How it started - Lay out was done to maximize usable space and allow all snap in fasteners to be used. The center section does not offer much in the storage department and I didnt want to compromise the latch mechanism. With my storage rack once...
I ran 4awg from the house battery to a 100amp circuit breaker in the engine bay. Then the 4 gauge continues to the passenger rear quater panel and terminates at a fuse block on a mount that I made. Tee'd from the fuse block it goes to another...
Viair behind the panel. Running hose to the rear bumper. Have only tested in driveway but seems to work fine. Switch protected form dogs etc behind ashtray opening. Popped in a sub while I was at it. None of it is visible.
Late this morning I went to @fourtrax and @4LowandSlow 's house to change out the output bearings and seal on the transfer case.
Taking it off, they noticed old oil has been in there for a long time. I don't think it's ever been changed till I...
Towing hitch and OEM Toyota wiring harness for 4-pin trailer (have 2) for 80 series. Hitch could use some sanding a paint. Pick up in Nashville. Can ship one of the two wiring harnesses if someone needs one.. $50 for hitch and wiring.
Use OME 851/860 springs and shocks. Some wear and tear, but all working fine with no leaks from shocks when removed. Pick up in Nashville - might be able to bring to Knoxville area soon as well. Not looking to ship these, and shipping costs seem...
That could be quite possible. The screws were in there but possibly not lined up with holes and just pushed on the thrust washer. I know I had to fiddle with my side to get them set up right.
Also interesting point on the fact it was the left...
You might add a spare screw to your parts list. This screw is the locking screw for rear bearing preload and they're very soft. Having one or two on hand is wise in case yours give you trouble.

IIRC it isn't too difficult. Pull the rear rotors and adjust the shoes out. Hmmm That makes me think....I seem to remember that the shoe setup was a self adjuster, but I could be wrong. If it is, you could try backing up fast and then pulling...

Hey everyone! I’ve been wanting to share this project for a while but I wanted to make sure it was 100% ready before doing so. I’m at a place where I can confidently share this project, and am also ready to...
Hey All,
So I've gone through threads searching for ways to clean the interior headliner and trim parts. Many asked but not many solid answers other than hire a pro detailer.
I have owned my own custom shop for many years so this is not exactly...
A short time with the Dremel, and the buttons have been fitted. The buttons click in firmly, as they have metal clips for that exact purpose. Have also ordered a black one to see if I like that better. The grey color is a close match, though...
