I have an 80 series universal joint which suits the correct splines but trying to get a 40 shaft resplined at a resonable price is proving difficult.
45209-60070 is the 80 series Uni joint was close to $100 from amayama delivered. Wish they were...
@cult45 did you find the correct universal joint for your set up?
I'm looking at adapting my 80 series steering shaft to a 40 series column and found a borgeson uni joint with a 11/16" 36 spline to a 3/4" DD and was hoping this will suit my...

I have sooo much to report, but its almost Turkey time (thanksgiving here) and I'm exhausted ... so with that I'll just say this
Friggin AMAZING experience ... so much fun to...
@Ozzy75 How’s the 1HZ swap going?
Would be a good thing in a HJ47 and something l would consider if my 2H needed a overhaul.
As to your questions about the wiring it will depend on what glow system you have? If the later glow set up you could...
The weather this year has been the worst l can remember. None stop rain this month so been cleaning up the workshop and moving my spare HJ47 cab onto its new home😉 80 chassis.
Also looking at some options for fuseable links as mine were missing...
Hello there! I wanted to get a hold of possibly the drawings so I can try and reproduce the parts with a machinist friend of mine.
Any chance you have drawings/specs for the parts that make up the whole set?
Thanks!
I tapped a threaded fitting into the thermostat housing and eliminated the rubber hose connection and removed all the stainless lines for the throttle body and ran the other coolant line to the cylinder head. Also think running hot coolant...
@Living in the Past , generally speaking most of the Colombian 40 series were delivered as FST , the brackets etc where always there, but without the soft tops, that's why there were locally made fiberglass tops (2 brands) and even totally steel...
Site prep contractor showed up last week and my concrete guy was in between commercial jobs for a few days so we got the slab poured this week. 6" of 4000 psi with a 12"x12" turndown foundation on all 4 sides (basically matching the existing...
Got a parts order from Amayama and fitted up a few parts. Got a new fuel resistor as it was playing up and l was using an old spare, new fusible link as a spare and the 3 hole washer jets😉
Got some new bumperettes as mine were missing and some new Toyota badges that l have been waiting to get for a while. Front indicators are for another future project, the rest is for the 80 series.
Got home from a 2week shift to find presents waiting, new body mounts and a box of Toyota parts😊
Last picture is the old front body mount vs the new Energy mount. The old mount did have another piece of rubber to make up the height but it’s well...
No, the poly's are a lot smoother and softer riding than OEM rubber-they won't harden like rubber either. I would easily say it was one of the best upgrades I've done and have noticed over the worn out 54 year old mounts.
Anyone have an Energy...
@firemanj92 did you notice more vibration and harshness going from the rubber to poly body mounts?
Thinking the rubber has lasted this long maybe get the two new front mounts and replace the others with some 9mm conveyer rubber l have here🤔
Well worth upgrading to either Energy Suspension or Daystar poly body mounts-won't harden with time like the OEM rubber mounts. (ES uses SAE bolts vs Daystar using metric hardware but both come with new hardware). It's not hard to install new...
