These were first shown way back in post #447 of this thread.
I speculated they were some sort of counterbalance. Learned they are just that.
They are counterweights for Toyota tiller/cultivators made in the 50s-60s by Toyota Automatic Loom...

Yep the diesel tranny has a longer fine spline input shaft and deeper bellhousing. I think it was just to keep the transmission in the stock location when switching from 6cylinder gas to the shorter 4 cylinder diesel ,the diesel needed the longer...
Genuine seats are not the best for the long trips. The spare set with the modern covers are much more practical. The OEM set stays for the exhibition

Thanks. It was several updates for the pto winch. The BJ4 shafts before and after 1979 stays the same (10.1981). The FJ4 shafts changed in 1979.
PS interesting puzzle
I was converting Petrol FJ40 gearbox into Diesel BJ40/42version. On top of the input shaft there is a front bearing retainer problem.

Standard Vacuum Oil, Co., or Stanvac, was started in 1933 after the merging of Socony-Vaccum and Jersey Standard. In April of 1953, Toyota General sales signed an agreement with Stanvac for them to become Toyota's automobile lubricant supplier...
Also stumbled across an old Denso Catalog, which if you look close has what I think is the early clam shell heater on the front. Lastly, found some kind of sticker that has the vintage Toyota parts logo on talking about "Winter Check"
Toyota manufactured a bunch of vehicles with some pretty cool grill emblems over the years. Although not technically a grill emblem, this came off the front end of a 1st gen DR10/11/15 bus, produced from 1959 - 1969. For scale, the third picture...
I bought this tool box off eBay recently and just received it. The vendor has a bunch of the more common tool boxes for sale. I asked about the history and he shared that he acquired from and a warehouse of and old house. He said he expects...
