I call BS on this! Show me proof US built Sequoia’s are crap? Why are you even on this forum? Doesn’t Nissan have their own forum? You should spend your time over there. This guy has been posting the same Armada leg humping crap in the 200...

apdxyk replied to the thread Spindle Bearing Grease.
I've been using Mobilith SHC 221 for years - NLGI1 synthetic grease from Mobil, exactly what the book calls for the spindle needle bearings. For other applications you may look into XHP Series: XHP 222 and XHP 222 Special (with Molybdenum...

I just did this job this weekend after reviewing this excellent thread. Here's some of my notes while it's fresh in my mind. - Need a 17mm thin wrench to hold the slide pin bolt head while you ratchet on/off the caliper mounting bolts...

Forgive my OCD-ness, but wanted to confirm I'm not missing anything (and maybe this will help future DIYers). In addition to the OEM reboot kit (x2), and the Cruiser Garage clamp kit (x1), I'm picking up the following: Did I get the right parts...

Outside of the boot "kit" you'll need 2L of gear lube, a new OEM differential axle seal, new axle end snap ring of the correct thickness, a new locking tab washer, possibly a thrust washer. Depending on the condition and proper/improper removal...

I just rebooted the passenger side on Aaron (2001 LC) The kit comes with all parts needed. I STRONGLY suggest getting this tool from Amazon, CV Boot Clamp Pliers, Single Ear Hose Drive Shaft CV Axle Boot Clamp Removal and Installation Tool...

"The major change for this 300 Series is how it feels to drive. I often describe it as ‘stress-free’. The Station Wagon-type Land Cruisers are certainly not small, but we have made this one even lighter than the 200 Series, with a lower center of...

i use the hi-tech accessory.......a piece of wood 4x4 for jack duties.

Don't overthink this. I've been using the lesser expensive aluminum race jacks and HB quality stands in full-time shops for over 20 years. Only ever had one jack fail. It wasn't an all out failure but just a hyd oil leak from a failed oil seal...

Actually the redesigned HF Jack Stands, which has lock pin. Appear to be safe.

I'll cheap out on some things, but not on jacks and *especially* not stands. I am lucky to have an old SnapOn YA700 that I picked up in 2010 and rebuilt; I also have a 2-ton Hein Werner that, while very solid (it's basically the same...

Ive had a couple of these for about ten years now. Highly recommend. Jack and stand in one. I still have a small 2T hydraulic jack I use for manipulating suspension ect but these get 95% of jacking done.

**I loathe the idea of driving a vehicle to signal status to other people; all of the arguments for the 200 made from that perspective fall completely flat to me, so take the following with that in mind** @drivel111, if you don't off-road, the...

Couple of additional thoughts: 1.) I have recommended the Sequoia based on size but I totally get your preference for the LC, I felt the same way and bought the LC. They are cooler, nicer, more overbuilt etc. If the size & storage space isn’t...

The LC won't fit 2 adults, 2 kids, dog, luggage for humans, dog's stuff, for a 1 week road trip. You'll need stuff on the roof, an external hitch-mounted carrier, or a small trailer to carry all the stuff. I have one kid, and one 85 pound dog...

LOL. Out of date was what I liked. Knobs for radio, HVAC, not a touch screen, etc. Rockers for most everything else. No stop/start, and all other safety features (lane departure, rear X traffic, etc), could be permanently turned off. I am never...

Or buy an LX for the same price as the Sequoia and get the premium for no extra charge.

I sold my GX460 for more money than I paid for it after 4 years and 40,000 miles of driving it. Feb 2020 to January 2024. Also, I've been selling parts that I had stripped off of my F150 before trading it in and I am breaking even on almost...

Sequoia…. And spend the saved cash on a convertible to appease the mid life crisis As others have mentioned, if you don’t off-road and aren’t a LC cult person, there are far better family hauler options. Edit: honestly though I love the LX and...

I guess that’s the case. Heck I’ve even seen Civics and Corollas going for prices that reflect almost no depreciation. I suppose my post was more a protest than realistic. Prices are what the market will bear……..

Six years ago the economy and car market was very different, particularly pre-covid. I don't think what someone paid new for it is relevant today. IMO, its a good price considering the current market of similar spec'd LCs.

For the amount of money you're ready to drop, and with a growing family with a not so small dog, I would steer into the newer gen Sequoia. Major reasons is that I think you'll need the room to eventually grow into (LC gets tight with a full...

Interesting piece. Hadn’t seen it before, but enjoyed reading the pride that the engineers have in their product. You don’t see this much by auto manufacturers. Toyota QDR (Quality, Durability, Reliability). Nice acronym backed by real world...

Yep, been much discussed and pointed out by many of us on this forum. The 250 is a 150 Light Duty Prado follow up and the GX variant the Lexus Prado based sister. It is totally obvious, not a 200 successor and no longer the ultimate King of All...
