I'm wondering the same. Both of them seem like they need some boxing--they are very wide and flat which seems easy to bend. The HF winch plate seems like it would be much more rigid, but I'm not into DIY so much these days.
I heard from Mike today. I have his cost. There were some things I needed to take care of at my end.
- Battery tray. Everything is reversed on this engine. Fuel, intake, battery, exhaust. I bought a conversion battery tray from TOS. I just need...
Totally unrelated to emissions, but when I took my 2000 LX470 in and he did a visual under the hood, he told me the bad hood struts were an automatic fail for safety of the emissions tech. Thankfully he just warned me of that and didn't fail me...
Holy cucaracha dude, that audi was the ONLY vehicle that did NOT need to be rescued. He got smart and turned back around. It was a veritable $hit show all the way down the mountain and it was a super blast. There were so many instances of...
At this point I'm fearing a wiring issue that will be hard to trace. Mine is getting more sensitive to the point it happens in my garage when the temp in the garage is in the 40s. It goes away once it warms up for 20 minutes or so, so I suspect...
I’ve thought about this because I thought that was the issue with the TPPS. My problem with this theory is the problem goes away when the engine is warm. I don’t know if the temp of the ecm would have changed that much. But Virgil has offered a...
I will be very interested in the fix. I replaced my TB with new OEM and still have the cold weather limp home mode and P0120 code. It goes away when the engine gets warm or is warm outside but seems to be getting worse.
Which part number is yours? That would be great to try, thanks! Maybe I can get out there this weekend and pick it up. I need to sort it before it stays warm and goes away again. It started fine Sunday afternoon.
Edited:
I'm having trouble determining my ecm part number. On Lexus parts website where I can enter the VIN, I get no results. On lexuspartsnow searching for 2000 LX470, I get 4 part numbers that all supposedly fit, but have different...
I was absolutely certain my cold weather no throttle issue was a bad accelerator pedal position sensor (APPS) from everything I found online. Bought a new OEM throttle body with APPS, TPS, and throttle motor last winter and after riding it...
According to TechStream and my Scan Gauge, the TPS appears to be in spec. At idle, TechStream said TPS is 15, Engine off, key on, it says 16. I also took a picture of freeze frame data for code P0120. See attached, I don't know what I'm looking...
