First, I am sorry for the people who got excited for a post on this thread hoping it was an update. I know this is one of my more favorite threads. With that said, I watched this video this week of another 2UZ swap and they mentioned how one of...
A question first.
Were the injectors rebuilt because they showing a sign of failure or a nice to do while the head was being done? If it was nice to do it is a variable that did change besides the head getting replaced. I think it makes sense to...
I got the Cummins running in the 80 series just because I could,
And looking at it now, I'm pretty certain I have room to run the engine driven fan.
Cheers
A bit mundane but I have wanted to bring this in-house for years and have been waiting for a deal on a the right one, finally
got my own flywheel surfacer!
I have about 15 2F flywheels so hoping I can do a few of them and offer an exchange on...
Got the brake lines in and made some mounting brackets. I made them pretty long to cut to fit. @CruiserTrash , kinda at the mercy of brake line manufacturers for the mounting style. Unless you go with AN fittings you’d be able to use a bulkhead...
Body mount kits finally ready to head out! :) A big thank you to those who supported this fun project. We will have an extra set available of "just the hardware" and a "full kit" if anyone is interested.
Thanks Johnny. The truck was hiding a lot more body and frame issues than what was previously apparent but very happy with the body and paint work that was recently done along with the undercarriage work.
The paint was done by a very small shop...
I believe you sent an inquiry to the shop today. I hope you saw my response. If not, this is what I said… “Thanks for your question! The stock 2F flywheel is more than adequate. We have used that flywheel with a similar adapter set up on R2.8...
I forgot to reset my trip after the Yosemite trip so it was this minus 350 miles so just around 900 miles. This leg had the most asphalt of any of the legs so far. I'd say it was about 50/50. Lots of roads in Califonia that are paved would be...
Fabbed up a bracket for the dual air compressor and got it installed. One side dedicated to ARB rear locker and the other for on demand air. I have some sheet metal I'm thinking about bending up for a heat shield near the header pipe. TBD...
Aluminum shrink rate is around 1.5% which is pretty noticeable on parts this size. If you take an existing part and try to copy it by using it as the pattern in an aluminum casting it won't work well.
Patterns also need to be super smooth so...
Big thanks to Nolen for hosting us today. Me and the girls always enjoy visiting Tilda Bogue. If you’ve never been, find a reason to go, the place is incredible.
Picked upped the Kush and dropped off the LX.
This truck is a dream. Could not...
Hey everyone! We just uploaded a super cool high-res scan of a 1993+ KZJ, PZJ and HZJ EWD up on the site. Huge thanks to @Bad Mojo for loaning us this document. It definitely took more than a few hours to scan and hand stitch the large pages...
Trucks look great! Will there be a build thread on the white one as well? Or have I missed one of the chronicles of the trucks you've imported or worked on?
Yep, this scratches an itch I have. I don't want unnecessary SAE hardware if I can avoid it. Thank you for over this as an option. Hopefully it hits the minimum.
