I assume that this adapter will also work for the '3 speed' F bellhousing, giving the opportunity to run an Dodge NV4500 behind a 2UZ as well?

Tigerstripe40 replied to the thread 1HD-FT for a swap..
Because 300hp spins 40 swampers quite nicely. Once you cut off the spring hangers and do a SOA. Add Saginaw Power Steering. Swap in an SM420 Do 4 wheel disc brakes. Link the suspension. Swap in an aluminum body OR even do a 1HD-FT swap, the value...

Tigerstripe40 replied to the thread 1HD-FT for a swap..
Well, I was considering this route, but then after speaking with a number of people who have purchased 2JZ-GTSs and RB26DETT from Alibaba, it was a roll of the dice and I'd have to consider the motor a rebuildable core, rather than something...

Tigerstripe40 replied to the thread Ineos Grenadier.
I know that BMW is talking about making a direct competitor to the G-Klasse. I wonder if they might end up buying Ineos Automotive to have the Grenadier as the platform to do that. I think this would solve the servicing issue as then the...

I was disappointed to see this. A lot of my 76 FJ40's tub was done and I couldn't get replacement parts for it as those parts weren't made by CCOT or the other ususal suspects. -Hard top rail/lip was too rusty, any time I'd arc up on it with...

So, how livable is an Ineos Grenadier as a DD? I am considering a replacement for my 08 Tacoma (bought new) in the next 2 years. The Tacoma has been my DD, camping, skiing, hiking, biking, offroading rig the entire time. I am at Ski resorts 3...

Swap in an H55F and split case. Find a 8/80+ rear axle for the parking brake. That said, the cost of the parts alone will buy quite a LOT of fuel...

To be FAIR I am holding out for a LHD HDJ-100. But a clean UZJ-100 w/ 5 speed like this is a close 2nd choice.

Rats, got permission from the Spousal Unit to buy this and it sold before I could message you... Oh well. :D

Tigerstripe40 replied to the thread rear full floater.
I can do the labor. Not as bad as I thought, but the tariffs might push it past the cost of a new FF Ford 9" based rear end.

So, what I'd like to know is, how much would it cost to build up a new FF rear axle from scrach, buying eveyrthing but the third member?

Replacing every 10-15k seems pretty frequent and doesn't suggest a reliable design. What about having a driveshaft built that uses common commodity u-joints (1410s) and eliminate that problem?

Tigerstripe40 replied to the thread Any M57 Swaps?.
Doing some research for myself. For an M57 setup for 300hp/550ft*lbs What transfer case would you use? The early 1 piece t-case would be right out, and since that is where the parking brake is for my project, I'd need to get a different rear...

I am curious why you didn't do a new block and heads. Are you planning on sleeving the cylinders for a BC stroker kit or something like that?

That I don't remember. @Box Rocket could shed some light on that. I bet if I asked nicely he'd be up to it. However, it's taken me over two decades to sit down type words out and scan my old photos. It would be another 2 decades before I could...

Didn't BoxRocket ask Darrell if he could do a write up with pictures for ToyotaTrails a long whiles ago and Darrell was rather coarse, grumpy, and/or curt about that NOT happening?
