just a FYI...tail lights can't only be on body panels that move.
I doubt any law enforcement would really care unless your state has inspections or your police are assholes...
so these tail lights are darn expensive... they always get rubbed on, smacked and or broke. i have been tossing around ideas for just resessing some of these lights in the tail gate, sure i could build a exo cage of sorts to protect that...
so the printed part worked like a champ. how ever i was not feeling the way the extra tube were going to look. so i decided to stop for now. i do need some sort of side protection and such just not sure how yet
may do a swing out tire carrier...
i too was doing work on the red one... started working on the rear bumper. step one remove rusted old cross member and weld in new 4x4 .188 wall square tubing next will be a wrap around rear bumper.
center section of the bumper was welded in last night. also made some mounts off the back of that bumper to make a body mount and mount for attaching the rear tailgate hinge. punched 6 holes in a plate so i have options where this thing will...
took a load to the landfill last week and after hooking up the trailer get irritated about how high this thing sits. read somewhere that isuzu 6 lug truck wheel fit. mid way back from dump i ordered a pair of rims to see if i can make them...
then stated working on making a usb charging station with on of switch and 12 volt adapter.
and now i am thinking about making the lid only have 3 holes...
its kind of big and bulky but i dont mind.
started making the rear bumper. i cut out the old rear crossmember that hung out back. it was rust and useless. i will weld in in its place a piece of 4x4 square .188 wall. i will also put a receiver hitch in. this will be phase one...
it is addicting for sure. but you can handle it.
and there are a few builds i follow and genuine try and copy or replicate ideas from and his is one of them. so so so much detail. i loved how he was using his 3d printer to make jigs...
Agreed, IMO He's very modest about his design, fabrication and attention to detail skills
There all top notch professional grade. Very talented !!
I'm afraid to join another forum. I need to limited my screen time 😜
