It's easier/ harder all at once. The vacuum system at the front is repurposed for the engine mounts in the 200 series. The vacuum solenoid up top changes from Turbo use to the engine mounts. On the rear, the turbo vent piping is replumbed to...

How modular is the single vs twin turbo setup? Is everything else the same and able to be swapped over or is it a complete undress and change all the piping?

Slow on updates... Again The VD fits so tightly... Even in the chassis intended for it. The turbo outlets/ inlets have actual reliefs in them for the steering shaft.... Have to install everything in order to make it fit! Had to make a slight...

If spinning big rubber in mud is your goal then you need a big fat torque curve far more than you need a specific power number. I'm not even sure why you want diesel. Just put a big v8 in it and run it on gas. IMO any diesel will suck with...

It's either fuel to the injectors, glow plugs not working or low compression. Did you find the cause?

I would install the bull bar and see what impact it has on the height of the current suspension. If it drops at the front, then look at heavier rated springs for the front. A bull bar alone may not make a lot of difference.

Tell us again why you want 300hp in a 40 series? They don't have the brakes, handling or wheelbase to use anywhere near it. A 40 series with an original engine will keep going up in value. A 40 series with a BMW engine will never be worth...

In a high rpm petrol engine with low boost you have a lot of wastegate flow and divorcing it can be significant. In a diesel with higher boost our wastegate flows are minimal, like single digit percentage, and I don't think you'll see any...

Wastegate mods won't change the operating pressure of the turbo, that's set by the efficiency and incoming energy. A wastegate can only lower boost. If the 9 blade is all that's available for your configuration I would try it.

I have a Gen 3 built turbo sitting in a box for the last decade. The turbo I use normally is a Gen 2 but I once built a smaller turbo with a Gen 1 paddlewheel on it to see how it would go. I hit drive pressure at 4x boost. It was terrible...

50 piece order is pretty good. You might get that easily if you advertise it here. I haven't come across a CT27. I refer to aftermarket turbos which are TD05/TD06 based but made with flanges to interchange with CT26. I'm not aware of anyone...

That's a Generation 2. It's going to be an improvement across the whole range but like you I believe the reduced blade count is best for ricers rather than diesels. Generation 3 probably aren't produced for the CT26 series of turbos, there are...

For Africa I would choose the 1HZ. Because it can run on the crappiest and most contaminated diesel without caring. How is the HD-T holding up?

Elevation delays turbo spool and that's a big driver of more smoke and lag. Once on boost the EGT difference isn't that big. You're not going to melt a piston or suffer other catastrophic failures unless you keep your foot up it while pulling...

Yes they exist but they're an unique problem solver that's very rarely used. Turbo companies have oil supply specs and you only need a restrictor if the turbo is passing too much oil out the drain. Almost every time a turbo is blamed for oil...

Well, we just have absolutely opposite points of view on the subject. Let each of us go their own way. P.S. And I stopped believing in the fairy tale about 'flawless' engineering solutions from automakers, Toyota in particular, a long time...

I was thinking in my spare time — why didn't my EGT rise above normal at 3000m altitude, if AFR really drops significantly? And I realized a very simple thing. Besides the decrease in AFR, which leads to an increase in EGT (but only up to a...

Thank you for your efforts, but I figured out how HAC works a long time ago and drew my own conclusions. Instead of proving obvious things to me about reduced air density at altitude and making assumptions about my reaction to all of this, you...

With these speeds and conditions, you don't even have to think about EGT problems. I traveled to the Caucasus Mountains about 10 times, at altitudes up to 3200m. Never had any EGT problems. The only condition where I have high EGT is on the...

There is always some oil in the intake and exhuast, but any excessive oil is usually because the engine is worn and pressurising the crank-case. This prevents the turbo from draining properly and will push oil out the labyrinth seals on intake...

Retarded injection timing will give you really high EGT. Along with poor starting and low power.

With no turbo the big question is smoke. If it smokes black then it's either overfuelled or your rings still need to seat. I put an EGT on my old non turbo work car and couldn't get it to read past about 550C. When I added a turbo it could...

Is the crankcase pressurising? That will make a turbo bleed oil from everywhere.

Catch cans often cause more problems than they solve. If you don't have EGR, get rid of it IMHO.
