2 1/8" can be found used and are cheaper. I actually have a real heavy wall socket which has been doing the job for 25 years. If you are not in the industry just borrow the damn thing (along w three pin rear axle tool etc).

15 mpg is unrealistic. You have a carb and inefficient straight six engine. Conversion costs will eat you so stick with current set up.
